we literally signed Jared Dudley to be a cheerleader on the bench. this is going to be one of those low risk high reward moves.

Boogie's basically gonna be another big body going into the playoffs...an insurance.

dont get me wrong I do think Marc is gonna be more productive in the playoffs. but having another big body like Boogie wouldn't hurt.

if he gives us 9 points and 5 rebs a night and decided to work on his defense...then effing great!

if it doesnt work...release him. simple as that.

I agree... Add boogie in case... But also maybe take a look at the talent you have and tweak the defense to fit the talent, rather than trying to make Marc move around the floor like he's McGee or Howard... Our Defensive switching schemes have him on his heels all the time. That's not going to be much better with Boogie.

He's been officially released by the Rockets.

I keep hearing that his defense sucks but none of his defensive metrics seem to support that: his DBMP is positive, his DRtg (though is a bad overall metric) is average, his per 100 possession rebounds are very good and his per 100 blocks - though are not great - would be third highest in the team.

I haven't seen him much this year so I cannot judge him really. Can anyone, who has seen him on a regular basis, comment on what the eye-test says?

Eye test and any metric are irrelevant without context.

He played for a **** team that was going nowhere. You can't extrapolate how he'll look there vs how he'll look on a top notch team that is serious about winning. It's a matter of effort. Of course he's going to pull his weight more on a team striving for something.

Just look at Batum. Every single guy on the GB was saying he was washed up and done and the Clippers made a mistake when they added him. How's that working out now? That guy looks like Batum from 5 years ago, just with a change of scenery.

People relying on recency bias without any context on a team's goals/personnel are the worst kind and should not be taken seriously.

i dont get this FO.

it's like all of a sudden they became allergic to 7 ft centers.

last season we signed boogie who couldn't even guarantee playing on top of our team already having three legit 7 ft centers in mcgee, davis, and howard.

this year cousins is actually active and playing and showed he still has a little bit left in the tank.

but now the FO is not interested? LOL!

sensing some ego problems from the FO tbh.

Revisionist. The lakers signed Cousins, traded for AD, and retained Javale. Dwight didn’t get added to this team until Cousins blew his knee out. In fact neither Dwight or Noah got a workout to Cousins got hurt. Then cousins was cut after Kieran became available during the buyout time. And the season went on a break, and when we returned Kieff and AD basically took all the C minutes and made those two unplayable except vs Portland (and in Dwights case Denver)

Sign him. Nothing to lose. He’ll get way less attention from defenses if on our squad; he would have a bigger impact with less effort.

From a cold view only looking at on-court issues, he’d be a great addition. He even brings a mean streak, great passing, low post presence etc.

Now, there’s one thing us fans don’t know; personalities/chemistry. One guy can ruin a whole crew’s vibe. If they don’t sign him, I’d guess it’s because The Rob knows something. I’d guess this is why we let JMG and Dwight go; reasons that we are not privileged to.

Wrong.

We didn’t sign any player named Kieran.

I'm afraid the Cousins we all remember is long gone. He's just another Gasol, probably slightly more quicker. We would be better off getting a traditional C that can strictly rebound and block shots. Drummond would be ideal if he got bought out.

I agree with cousins. He was just here. Hes been measured and worked out here. Weve already got his full evaluation on file. And we let him go. What does that tell you. If we get him back, tells u we messed up.

But also, a Drummond maneuver....would bring it all back for pelinka. Proving his cunning as an operator. Drummond would fill the need. Shore up the middle. Defend the power Bigs in this league. Cut down the freeway traffic down the middle of the lane.

Have you watched Drummond play outside boxscores and 2K? He is awful on defense. Javale had better instincts than he does. He is worse than Whiteside in the sense that he rebound hunts, while Whiteside block hunts. He has no care for team scheme and his not a good one on one defender either. Every team he is on has been awful at D because he is awful at D. He will clean the glass sure, but its in the Westbrook sense of Isteal every rebound and will bowl over Kuzma/Bron/AD.

I much rather pay some team under the table to trade for Javale and cut him at the expense of seconds and cash, then bring him back tbh than get Cousins or Whiteside or Drummond ...

Now if Pelinka wants to win the season, all he has to do is pay for 9 players to fail and get caught up in contact tracing so the Lakers next week or two gets postponed and Bron gets all his rest

Drummond is better than the current situation. Re signing Javale, Dwight, cousins is proof of failure by pelinka.
However, I would buy into a Whiteside. Again, upgrading our current situation.

hasan whiteside will do more damage to this team in terms of chemistry . I rather fall short of the finals this year w Demarcus on our roster, than to win it with whiteside riding along.

Trez and Wes Matthews for Holmes and Bjelica might be a trade that works for both teams. May be make it a three teamer with Trezz going elsewhere and get Sacramento a pick.
