One of the Phoenix games is right at the end of the season. They will probably be qualified by then so there's a strong chance of player maintenance.

All we have to do is string in a few wins in a row. Everybody in front of us plain sucks, they can't seem to string in a decent W streak.
Based on how we started and what we had to go through we shouldn't have still be in this. It's gonna be a pity if we don't take advantage.

Id love to see a huge run, but think 9th is more of a realistic hope. Even for that to happen, we would have to see Minnesota or NO fall out and the lakers leapfrog solid teams like OKC and maybe GS.

Utah and maybe OKC will be turning it downn, Wemby fits their timeline much more than a one and done 10 seed

This team to showcase to themselves they are a bona fide playoff top seed team, they can't (as we are) look at any game and say hey we'll lose this one....no, each of these: Dallas, Memphis, Clippers etc, we gotta look at them as teams we can beat bc we are "higher seeded" than they are in essence.

If we can't, what's the purpose of trying to make the playoffs then, it doesn't make sense

Today’s win over Luka and Kanye felt good. Down by 27…

Can AD and crew go into hostile Memphis and take them down Tuesday?
Huge test. No lebron and no dlo most likely.
This one's on
AD Schroeder Reeves Vanderbilt Beastley Rui Gabriel IV and Bamba.
If these guys pull out a convincing win, I'll just come out and say it that we are a bona fide top 3 seed team.

2-0 is a good start to the final 23, but it could still theoretically turn into 2-21 so let’s turn up that defense once and got all. I still say 15-8 is good enough but 18-5 would mean we’re a legit title contender.

Lebron out for the rest of the season lol. At least we gonna see what we can have with this team in the next seasons without Lebron.

Who is going to replace Lebron in the starting five. Reaves, Dennis or Rui. It's a shame Rui look like he doesn't have the fire inside him. D'Angelo-Beasley-Rui-Vando and AD is not a bad starting five. Dennis as a six man please. If you need playmaking put Reaves there.

I mean what you can expect a 38 years old heavily carrying a team

Dlo/Edwards/McDaniels/Vando/KAT was a team close to upsetting the Grizzles in the 1st round last season. The talent level of the Lakers is close [if not better] and a healthy and engaged AD is miles better than KAT.

I would still hold onto hope if I were a Lakers Fan.

Yeah, I still think this team can go 13-8 the rest of the way through with a healthy AD. This team has good depth. They'll prove to be resilient.

So... sneaking into the playoffs and possibly surprising someone is the goal? Lakers 2023 in a nutshell.

Davis and healthy... what's the over/under on that over the next 20 games?

Yeah, we can't catch a break.

Playoffs straight up is pretty much impossible right now. But the Thunder and the Pelicans are imploding right now, so we basically need just another team to falter to make the play ins.

I'm pretty confident at least one of Minny, Utah and Portland can be surpassed.
We have a huge homestand starting after Mar 5, we should be able to win a bunch even without Lebron.
Russell should be back after the B2B coming up.

He's not missing 7 weeks. He'll be back before the play-ins.

I'd be shocked if he's not back before April 1st.

It sure as hell is going to be close and if we make it, it'll be the play-in. I think Utah will fall and so will the Pellies and OKC, so with a bit of luck we can sneak in.

Yeah. Realistically I can see the following right now:

We surpass the Thunder, Pelicans and Utah. I'm almost certain of this.

We'll probably finish 9th or 10th though. It doesn't matter, we still have to play 2 play in games.
And we're going to play them against Portland and Minny 95%. With us having to win against both of course.

I still like our odds against those two. Unfortunately though, we're gonna be the 8th seed and and see Denver in the first round.

If by some chance we get to #8 and play someone like the Warriors..and win. Then we're playing Memphis/Sacramento as the #7 seed.
I would rather we play any of these and not Denver of course.

But the Lebron injury probably means it's gonna be Denver.

This is why team defense must be a constant first priority; from day one of training camp! It could cost coach Ham his job.

Edit to explain myself: in other words, if our team defense had been the main priority from day one we wouldn’t be in a situation where we have to win 17-6 of our last 23. That same lack of team defense (which is indirectly caused by Ham) is what has been ‘forcing’ Ham to play LeBron and AD to play 49MPG of 48MPG and consequently what ended up injuring both. Surprise. Plus, right now we could use some suffocating defense until Bron is back.

Huge disappointment to see Lebron get hurt after the 3 game stretch they put up. That's an understatement lol. That said, one of the Pels or Blazers has to lose tomorrow, so the Lakers will be tied for the 10th spot with a win.

As a fan, it's hard for me to be optimistic about making the playins-playoffs right now, but they need to approach things one game at a time. The Lakers absolutely can pick up a W against the Thunder tomorrow.
