For what it's worth, I'm sure the league already told the Lakers by now. It's all about how long it takes for the Lakers to tell all of us.

Lol @ 10 games, the only thing more ridiculous than that is him being done for the rest of the season. No one's getting shut down the remainder of the season and no one's getting suspended 10 games. Bynum's elbow was a lot more deliberate and he only got 4 games and to top it all off he even took his jersey off to show you he didn't give a ****.

Although I find it incredibly difficult to not know when someone's that close to you, I'm sure Artest didn't mean to inflict bodily harm to Harden. I'm sure he knew someone was there and probably meant for a shove to take place instead of Metta Bones Jones taking over, but it happened. And since it happened he must be punished. And no one here is arguing that. I'm not understanding why the last few posters in this thread don't understand this.

But to sit here and act like it was all Metta's fault is reckless. Although one doesn't deserve an elbow thrusted at them with that much force which in turn happened to lead to a concussion, one could argue that Harden had no business being on Metta. Yes trash talking and other kinds of the sort happen in sports, the testosterone is at an all time high and thinking clearly isn't the first thing the first thing that pops in people's mind when in that state. But that isn't an excuse Harden for walking up on Artest in what could be conceived as Harden trying to show him up.

Moral of the story, Metta was definitely wrong, a player was concussed and taken out of the game. But Harden was also wrong too, he tried his games on the wrong person and ended up on the wrong side of an inadvertent elbow.

good question. i have a feeling brown will stick ebanks as a starter and keep barnes on the bench. just like when kobe went out, wants to keep the rotations the same.

I'm tired of hearing all this getting more games for his past incidents. He already got punished for all that. True it was a cheap shot and it deserves a suspension but to say longer because of his past...well i'm just tired of hearing that

I feel the same way. What happened in the past happened but the guy has had a pretty clean slate in recent years. I don't see why past events should make his suspension any longer. Up until now you could say hes pretty much turned things around and even with this I don't think he meant to do that much damage.

I don't see how that matters in the slightest. I mean, I've said repeatedly that I don't think Artest was intentionally trying to hurt anybody. But unfortunately for him and us, that doesn't matter in the slightest, either. It just doesn't make a whole lot of sense to me to blame Harden for getting smashed in the face with an elbow. Seems kind of like blaming a **** victim for wearing a short skirt...
what if the short skirt wearing girl purposely goes into a place where she knows she will get *****? to be fair you have to consider that she bears some responsibilities. one is to make the call not to go into a **** layer. it's common sense.

Wow, this is the stupidest thing I have ever read. What are you a caveman?

I was interested in what Laker fans thought of the situation, we are all basketball fans. I was taken off guard by such thuggish rhetoric coming from a mod, pardon me.

I still say 10 games..He threw the elbow after the play was over.

Your two responses were you calling someone a tool and a caveman, you provided no talk about anything. Your visit here was useless.

The problem with MWP is when "the red mist descends," to borrow from Sedale's post, he becomes more violent and unpredictable than any player I've ever witnessed.

That, more than the severity of this incident, is what fans the flames on the permaban talk. It's that, @ age 30+, with a disciplinary rap sheet longer than Bynum's wingspan, and a ton of therapy/counseling, people still have absolutely no idea what Ron Ron is going to do when put in an emotionally volatile situation.

Normal players don't do what he did to Harden. Nobody does that. Every other player in the league just walks by, gives him a chest bump, or at most a two-handed shove to the chest. Crazy Pills interrupts his victory celebration to send a rocket-powered elbow behind him, plowing into a guy's head, and charges on roaring like nothing happened.

Disclaimer: Celtics fan speaking. If Rondo did this, I'm sure I'd be developing the best defense for him that logic would permit.

That's our point... If the context of the play comes into the question at all, you have to look at what Harden was doing... He was starting another 'play' while MWP was celebrating the completion of the first...

I think that diminishes the severity of the incident, not increases it.

I think 3 games is pretty much the max I'd call fair for this... If it's more, it's some BS 'past acts' argument... Which is BS because you have to look at how long ago those past acts occurred.
