The conversation actually turned to her saying "I don't know how you're single". Me: What do you mean? Her: Like sex, how do you go without it? Me: I think my morals are a little bit different than yours as I don't need to be in a relationship for that. Her: *laughs* Me: Yeah, I won't be having a girlfriend anytime soon. Us: *laughter*

I actually think I played it pretty cool and I think she was investigating how I work since this is the first time she said sex in front of me.

I wasn't clear actually, Deception Point and Digital Fortress are similar in that they are all intellectual thrillers with scientific mysteries to solve... With intellectual heroes.
There are superficial differences with the Langdon stories but fundamentally they are similar.

I facepalmed because I had these same expectations.

Also, I'm feeling pretty proud of myself. Managed to get 100-section seats to the MIA/LAL game tomorrow for $400 each.

Only Riot can drop 40 grand on a basketball game like it's nothing. Better give me at least 3 of those tickets.

all of dan browns? how many others has he written and they a similar genre?

i've only read the 3 about langdon

Angels and Demons > Da Vinci > lost symbol (all were good though)

I've read a few non-langdon's. digital fortress and some arctic based one are what I remember, but there was at least third I cant remember (I think). they were along the same lines (conspiracy), but Langdon is his best character imo.

Tycobbycob should have whipped it out and proceeded to fornicating like one of those porn movies that have no plot.

Riot is balling! :)

In other news I'm having a hard time with this neural modeling class. I don't know jack **** about computer and my knowledge of calculus is moderate at best :nonono:

Dan Brown kinda sucks. I've read da vinci code and angels and demons, and while i like narrative-driven novels, especially with some scientific backing or feasible scientific extrapolation, but Brown is just pseudo-intellectual. I thought i was learning all this cool stuff, but turned out it was all bull. Look at Langdon's field of study, it's symbology - dafuq is that?

It had a good time reading them at the time. Michael Crichton is still the best narrative-driven author, imo.

Agree with this.... But they are enjoyable as books on CD for drives.

Is it sad that I haven't gone to a Lakers game ever? Well I went to a preseason game in 06 but that doesn't count really.
