1 year of tanking, a #2 pick wasted just to dump salary...

You better bring 2 superstars soon, Magic...

no, Ingram is but Russell sure as hell was an important part of it.

though i LeVert is coming the other way, it makes it more palatable (i don't like it still though).

Paul George coming for those two low first rounders. Lakers don'twant to risk losing PG to Cavs for Kevin Love.

Now that they have George, makes Lebron coming in 2018 (or Russ?) much more likely.

I've never read so many positive insights on D'Angelo Russell from non-Lakers fans.

I can only imagine what they really think of Ingram. Imagine if we trade him, they'd be saying we traded the next KD. But they'd only admit to it when he's off our roster. Good stuff.

Could you imagine if Kobe had played his entire career in, say, Philly. He'd be considered the GOAT.

It really doesn't. 34-year-old Lebron is going to want to compete for championships, not 40 wins.

To bring in a 29 year old Paul "I don't play the 4" george and a 35 year old LeBron who is going to end up taking control of the team only to get impaled by the warriors.

He was much more important to our future than Brook Lopez and the 27th pick is.

What we acquired for Russell is still pending as they (Lopez and the 28th pick) are just the first domino to fall in what looks to be a larger haul in waiting.

If it means acquiring Lebron, Chris Paul or DeMarcus Cousins then it is a massive win. PG is a shoe in practically, imo. Let the dust settle before screaming the Sun is falling.

People resort to name calling when they don't have coherent argument.

If you watched the games Lou Williams was by far the best scorer and player on team before he was traded. Yes, a career sixth man was the best player on the team last season. Shows how much being the best on one of the worst teams in the league actually means.

Nobody is going to miss his sub 40% volume shooting when that can easily be replaced by virtually an sub standard player in the league.

Your post is too foolish to not label you as a fool. You saying Lou can be "easily be replaced by virtually an sub standard player in the league" is only further proving it. Dude hasn't shot under 40% in almost a decade, for what it's worth.

I was talking about Russell. .405% to be exact. He actually regressed and shot worse then his rookie year despite taking fewer shots this past year.

Don't bother responding to this post until you can actually engage in a conversation without hurling insults.

What domino? What larger haul? By all accounts, it looks like that pick is just going to get packaged with another pick and Clarkson/Randle for a player that we can get for nothing a year from now. Great.

A declining Lebron or Chris Paul isn't winning us anything, even with Paul George. Cousins isn't a much better scenario. Look at our roster. Look at Golden State's. Book your return trip to reality.

This is high risk strategy from Rob and Magic with high reward. But very high risk game they're playing.

Most of us did get the sense from Magic that he would try to hit home runs instead of base hits. For our sake I hope it pays off.

Why don't you look up what "sub-" means and get back to us.

Better yet, don't.

Nah... I think he was underrated. He was underrated for dumb reasons too. 80% of the people who wanted him traded wanted it because of the cell phone incident lol. Nothing to do with basketball. Even as I'm watching TV now NBATV analysts are surprised he was traded.

Either way, whether you wanted him traded or not, salary dumping him now to have enough cap space to sign 2 max contracts in 2018 makes no sense unless you're bringing on 2 max contracts right now.
Talking about how bad Julius Randle is:

Excellent move - the Lakers now have 3 picks in the first round, they dumped two full years and got Lopez in return who is a better player. This is a move in the right direction

Fair point. I mentioned its a very high risk game that Magic and Rob have gotten us into.

I feel that people think (incorrectly) that adding Russell to a team of PG and Max free agent would help us beat GSW and without Russell we can't.

So now the Lakers have $60 mill available to spend next off season. They have $12.5 mill to spend this season and 3 first round picks to maneuver. I can see the Lakers trading the 27 and 28 and Clarkson to Indiana for PG. Next year bring in Cousins at Center and re-sign Randle. Starting 5 would be:
Ball
Ingram
George
Randle
Cousins

Bring in some fillers for the bench and we are competing for a championship right then.

Yet again, what is the point of this post? The goal is to win championships. The goal is to have as good of a team as possible. We just made a trade that is a terrible value. We just made our team worse. What aren't you understanding?
