Any chance we could make a run at Miles Bridges?

Some interesting tidbits in here -

Lakers considered Whitmore but viewed JHS as a surer bet.

Lakers consider JHS as a replacement for Schroeder. So I guess Dennis won’t be high on their offseason priority list.

I’m pretty sure that Jeannie Buss would never allow it.

Lol man, we legit going into next season w dlo and jhs as the Pg rotation and no center. We downgraded our Pg rotation (if the idea is just to replace Dennis with jhs and call it a day) and added 0 center, but hey, at least we have a plethora of 6’6” guys that can’t shoot. Because guys that can’t shoot and only pass and won’t even see the floor behind reaves/lebron are super valuable. Maybe we can get Jamal tinsley or Kendall Marshall out of retirement so rob can cream himself and finally get a team full of “playmakers”
Warspite:

Prince + filler for Kobe Bryant
To be honest the way Prince has played and with Kobes injury/age/mileage Im not sure I would do that deal either. Still Prince is more important and he wins the head to head battles with Kobe.

If we don’t use the tpmle on Dennis, do we get to use full mle on naz? Bc even tho I’m big Dennis supporter, I’d unfortunately be inclined to do that. Just not sure how rules work. I imagine Dennis doesn’t return for anything less than tpmle

Current roster with guaranteed contracts:

Anthony Davis ~ $40m
LeBron James ~ $53m
Jared Vanderbilt ~ $5m
Max Christie ~ $2m / Max Lewis ~ $2m
Jalen Hood-Schifino ~$3m

-----

Discussion:

1) RFA - I can't imagine anyone would be satisfied with losing Reaves or Hachimura, but, is there a deal another team could offer that you'd be ok with letting them walk for?

2) UFA - Who do we definitely need to bring back next year? Who is more important - D'Lo or Dennis, Tristan or Wenyen, Lonnie or Troy

3) TO - Would you keep any of them in hopes of making the rotation, or dangling as expiring trade pieces all season? Lonnie

4) 2W - We are allowed 3 Two-Way deals, and with the 2 new additions, Hodge & Castleton, & with Swider on the 2nd season of a 2 year 2-Way contract, it looks like Pippen Jr is on his way out. Are you satisfied with these 3 for now, or would you prefer to keep Pip around? Fine.

5) FA shopping - What UFAs from other teams are you hoping we can steal? Landale, Reid, BroLo

6) Trading Block - Which players are you willing to deal that we currently have under contract, and what would you be looking for in return?

See sig.

7) Your Vision - Show your dream rotation & describe what you're aiming for

See sig. not dream rotations exactly but what we might have in a few weeks.

So according to some research on twitter, searching up "lakers mle bae" it looks like we'd open up the full MLE ~ $12m and BAE ~ $5m if we decline TO on Beasley & Bamba

FA update:
Naz Reid just signed an extension with the Twolves for 3 years 42 mill
Brook Lopez prob getting a way bigger offer than the MLE to leave Milwaukee

Do we just keep Bamba at 10M?
Or risk waiving him and try to sign back at a lower amount

Ok folks, the prospects are dwindling down. If all the Dawgs sign everywhere else, here's the play. We gotta go with what we got in house. Need the guards, we got Reaves scheoeder etc already in house. Sign em. Although I am not down with signing DLo.
Need a big? We have Bamba already around, sign em. If all the top free agents needed are gone, go the secondary agents and fill the blanks by retaining

Damn there goes Naz Reid. They really need a 3 center rotation with that much money committed in total? Jeeze…

I’d give Bamba another run if he’s the best option left.

IMO.. unless it's Brook, Ham will continue to play AD at the center 99% no matter who them bring in. I'd prefer to see AD at the 4. Since I guess the keep Mo

A bit early to panic, i think. All we know is that they didn't do anything before free agency. And they still could.

Completely agree. He never really got a chance last season. And regardless of his play he is a 10M expiring which has trade value during the season. Then re-sign Tristan Thompson as well.

I have strongly thought that the Lakers would not operate as a hard capped team, but the more I look at the numbers I think they could reasonably pull it off. I also think ownership would prefer to to stay below the $172M apron so that would be an added bonus. We'll have a pretty good feel for their intentions if they waive Bamba (waive date is 6/29) and decline the team option on Beasley (I think cut off date on his TO is 6/30).

If they do that they could resign Austin (he is price locked at a max of about $12M) & Rui (to a $15M-17M starting salary) use the full MLE, BAE and resign DLO or use him in a S&T at a reasonable price (maybe $15M).

I really like Trey Lyles as a rotation big. Active defender, 36% from 3, 60% true shooting. He’d be a great pickup to add with AD, Rui, and LeBron in our big rotation. I’m not sure what his market is but there will be bigs that are a lot more expensive that won’t be as good of a player/fit as Trey would be.

I think there's a wizards-trade out there somewhere.

They have Poole, Tyus, Morris and Delon in at the PG position and right now we only have an unproven rookie in DHS. I know Reaves is likely to stay and that goes for D'Lo as well, but who knows.

Wizards also have other solid rotation pieces, such as Gallo and Muscala.
