my boss and the other boss from another unit talked about me. the other mentioned an opening and that opening guarantees a regular position. boss is urging me to apply but they still need me here. said they didn't want to deprive me with the opportunity.

I'm contented with where I'm at now but the opening can give me more privileges and I can grow professionally there but damn the trade off is a looooooooooooooooooooooooooooot of work. plus, new boss is daaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaamn scary.

you might as well get used to doing a lot of work because that is what you're going to be doing the rest of your life

opportunities to move up don't always come around very often so i would definitely consider this because moving forward professionally is always a good thing. might not look like a lot of fun but you have to look at the future and figure out where you want to be and see which direction will help you get there

Was it? Sounds like me. And I'm still tired, probably because of this boring ass Lakers game.

I'm not a rookie with work and being professional. at 24 I already worked in 3 offices (though I'm still not sure what I want to do), all research related (social science, agroforestry, agronomy) and all gave me a ton of experience. met **** people and people who helped me in my career and inspired me to be like them or surpass what they did. I only get to relax at work when I log in here. :)

I may/will apply for that position and update you guys. once I get hired (after probably 6mos of probation and give me the item/regular contract), I'll be doing a DD. (yes, we'll use that term if we get to where we want in life-doing what we love, loving what we do, and being successful... and post once in a blue moon. :P)
