I'm out of the experimental phase with hard-ish drugs. To clarify, ones that have really negligible effects.

I'm on the same plane bt. i took x a few times, had some real good times. It wasn't like shrooms, which really revealed my fears to myself as well as the things i truly wanted out of life before im six feet under the ground. back to x though, it was a great time, sex was exciting but not worth the negligible effects as you mentioned.

i remember being at EDC 2010, the group i was with was really chill, no problems there. in fact, i didn't know everyone there and you wouldn't have noticed it considering how cool we all seemed. then as we're walking to the drum and bass pod, i noticed paramedics a few feet away, as we got closer there was a gurney with a white sheet over it, there were 3-4 young girls, no more than 16 id say, crying in shock beside the gurney. it seems one of their friends took too much and didn't stay hydrated. the girls kept saying how they should've bought water in between their rivers of tears. that pretty much sealed it for me. I haven't rolled since and haven't been tempted to do so. im done with hard drugs as well just like my weed daily, my shrooms annually, and still trying to procure some good acid 8-)

Funny, that happened to me too. I think there is an Indian version of Memento as well, haven't seen it though.

@ DM - Yea, it was supposed to be live action and rumors were floating around that Tom Cruise or like Zac Efron would be Kaneda.

supaflash wrote:Honestly I'm more afraid of prescription drugs than recreational ones. There are some that should be legal in my mind, alcohol is a drug and can be quite destructive, especially over the long term. Same thing with perscriptions, we create all these chemicals that we don't' really know what the long term effects are and push them out to more often then not, just mask symptoms or provide temporary cures/relief.

I'm an advocate of trying things a few times at least, with some exceptions. I didn't do any drug at all, even weed, until I was in my 30s, and now it's an occasional thing for fun and bonding. I had this thing about being clean until I knew myself well enough that I knew who I was without any altering and I knew I could control it because I enjoyed my life sober. Then all the sudden I found myself back in the EDM scene because I loved it and dating 20 somethings that wanted to have fun and I've had some flat out amazing times. I set myself some simple rules when I started.

1. Never do it alone. To me any altering substance, and I apply this to drinking as well, should be used to enhance and share experience with someone. It's just safer and better, and you should always have good energy and trust with who you are with. Bad energy, bad environments, that's were things go wrong and bad **** happens. Doing stuff alone, that's just escapism and has much more potential to create addictions or problems.

2. Try and stick with the stuff that's natural and/or safer. I'm a hell no to anything that's super addictive/destructive or harsh on your body. Meth is just a **** cocktail of chemicals that will rip you up, it's disgusting and I won't go near it. Heroine is super addictive and nasty on your body and hard to get off of, methodone, oxy, all those jacked up prescription abuses are addictive and destructive.

3. Be safe with it. Use it for fun, enjoyment. Don't try and do too much or prove something or take it to a next level, don't get peered into more and more, and don't do it in circumstances or an environment where things can go wrong. Just be smart, don't mix **** or go crazy. Most of the good party drugs are safe if you don't go overboard.

Anyway, stuff can be both mind expanding and fun, I'd advocate trying a few things. Weed obviously isn't that bad and can be fun, hell it should be legal if booze and cigarettes are. Molly is fun, shrooms are interesting, coke is fun in doses, K is kind of interesting... that's about as far as I go, scared of acid/lsd, and other stuff.

I'd say try Molly if you can find a good source. Find a girl (or guy) that's fun with good energy that you can be intimate with, preferable who is DTF. Go to a good show and have a place to go after already and a good way to get there. Take a little together, let it start to hit you, get cozy with each other, touch, dance, take a little more maybe depending on how hard it's hitting you. Leave the show early, go back to your place, throw some soft blankets down on everything, get naked, massage each other, blow vapor in your eyes (gently), take a shower together (amazing if you are rolling) and have tons of sex. It's worth the experience at least once or twice. No need to get super ravey, though that can be fun, light shows are cool and all, but if you got someone you like it's quite a bonding experience. Oh yeah, get some 5HTP (it's an herb) and take it a few days before, the day of, and a few days after, helps keep your brain chemicals more normal so you don't become too depressed or emotional the days after.

Way better then getting trashed, doing stupid crap, and then feeling like ass the next day

Shrooms are similar, find someone fun, start in the afternoon in the park, just take some and lay there and watch the sky. Go back to someplace safe, put on music and the itunes visualizer, draw, play art games on an ipad, walk around and look for patterns, mess around with each other... it's quite fun and honestly you tend to have a very clear headed feeling after (along with a little bit of stomach ache, it is food poisoning after all)

my .02$

forget two cents, that's about a half dollar right there, good stuff supaflash

Tasp wrote:I have anxiety. Those brain altering psychoactive drugs you mentioned actually help a ton. I was on some 3 years ago, weened myself off and am still reaping the benefits of them. I live in the moment more now than I ever did, instead of constantly conceiving of every contingency. Weed definitely helps with anxiety, but can't compare to some of those prescribed drugs. Plus, unlike weed, I experienced no side effects and remained fully functional as opposed to 90%.

I am truly glad they helped you. You are extremely lucky, more and more research comes out showing those drugs potential danger and many prominent researchers and clinicians around me would not use them unless absolutely necessary. There are strong links coming out to dementia in elders caused by anti-depressants and it's fairly common knowledge that prescriptions for them are often guess and check by clinicians. There is a reason depression is a side effect of most anti depressants, it's because in the clinical trial a lot of people saw 0 improvement because it didn't work. That being said, I generally think we're over medicating in this country in general.

If you weened yourself off easily that is even more impressive, I have friends/family that have had serious health issues coming off of them.

Like I said, if you need them, use them because the mental issues are real, medical things, but don't let them be your first choice. It's worth giving therapy a shot and trying some lifestyle changes.

man, i'm so well versed on history i can tell you the future if we don't change our ways. jokes aside, would be awesome to see society crumble like in rome. although it'd suck to lose the art of glass for 400 years as i really do enjoy using glass in my everyday life

It's a fictional device that induces euphoria over long distances, from the sci-fi series, Ringworld by Larry Niven.

I picked it because it seemed apt.
