Resign Hayes and call it an offseason. A+ offseason by Pelinka so far.Wish we didn’t lose Finney-Smith but I’m not worried if Vando is fully healthy this season.

Hayes played zero minutes in the elimination game vs TWolves.
Less than 5 mins in game 5, so why would Rob think JJ would play this guy if ever they get lucky to get to the next playoffs? :banghead:
I would rather take a chance on Thomas Byrant, Chimezie Metu or Mo Wagner or just play Kleber again to back up Ayton.
on btw, Pelinka decided NOT to sign any Centers other than Jemison for the Summer League. :banghead:
I don't care if its 1-2% chance that Centers from College or Euro League can make it to the league, at least the Lakers can take a look if they have some kind of potential of helping this team. ZERO centers signed. What if...just what if, there's one signed by the Clippers or any team that turned out to be good, then these teams would just keep them.

I'm fine with Hayes signing. So we have Ayton, Hayes and Jemison for Center rotation. We still got Bron, Rui, Maxi and Vando as other bigs. Another C wouldn't hurt right? Horford is okay or we could try a prospect for a 3rd string or development.

I'm for this... I saw more from him in year one than I did in Max Christie year one and I think he'll end up a baller. Yes I'm aware Max was very young.

The player who averaged under 8 mins/game last playoffs, including zero minutes in their elimination game was given the right to reject future trades. :banghead: Rob must really like him, not sure JJ feels the same.

Just because Hayes didn’t play much against Minnesota doesn’t mean it was the right decision by JJ.
To me that was a mistake not to play him more against Gobert.
I really like the idea of Hayes as a back up and as a situational defender .
He is also good playing with Luka as a lob threat.

We still have Klieber but I’d love to see us get Horford and trade Maxi

We need a second string C. Horford, Williams III, Whitmore.

We need a POA defender. De Anthony Melton

Sign Dame.

I’d trade Rui, Klieber.

assuming there is some fire behind the smoke... what would be the return on a guy his age but with the ability to to make a team some money and get some w's? I mean Cleveland already looks like they don't need him. We would want either a star or headroom to pay a FA star. No way am I buying him out.

Sure...but the fact that it was even an option in the coaches head, aughta spell out the talent level here. Same goes for the rest of them. Your coach essentially concluded that you had nothing to bring to the game. So your either behind someone amazing in the pecking order, or.....well....your prob not very good.

So Lebron will prob be a what?....like 18ppg-8boards-8assists guy next year. Drop that down to 16-7-7, and that's still hardly peanuts. As long as you dont need him to shoulder the team....he's still a pretty damn valuable player. But it's gonna be 1 year.

So your looking for one of 2 types of teams:
A) Older team like GS...a team (maybe) willing to shove all the chips in. One last push...win 1 more with Curry, and then rebuild.
B) A team that's close, but with an albatross contract. Best I can think of, would be if we'd been in the Porzingis deal. Something like that.

Does GS have a couple contracts that could match up, without giving up their future, or completely gut them? I don't see it. Would GS be willing to pay a massively punitive 2nd apron tax to make this happen? I do....if they felt like they had a real shot.

Would Mavs trade some combination of Klay, Daniel Gafford, PJ Washington, Caleb Martin, Naji Marshall? We would only need 2 if Klay was involved (they got a few $5-6-7mil players too). I mean...you got Vogel gonna coach. You got Kyrie, AD, The new Flagg kid, and Lebron?? They could even do it while keeping Klay....that certainly seems like a legit contender if they can all stay healthy for the postseason.

So I think there are a couple out there.

We've gotta look out for ourselves though. I don't know many of the names I threw out there on Dallas...but we hardly want to take back a ton of crap contracts. I think a couple were 1-2 year deals. not too bad. If they wanted to keep Klay, and get rid of some longer contracts, maybe a pick, and some younger guy with some potential upside makes it worth it? I dunno...it's a thought.

I think both those teams could be "sold" to Lebron. If they were able to keep the core of Curry, Butler, Green. Or Kyrie, and AD (Klay could stay too) then I think Lebron signs off on either of those.

What are we getting? I'd wanna see us get something. You gotta sell this to Luka as well. Not just hand him a S**t sandwich, and say "Bite".

Completely agree. At the same time Hayes could have provided some length in stretches to slow Gobert down a bit. Get a few rebounds. Block a couple of shots.
Dunk a few times.

Gobert absolutely torched us and he torches no body!

Put some length on hike for gods sake.

I like JJ quite a bit and am glad he’s our coach.

But in the playoffs , his inexperience was exposed imho.
