I think if Dwight is out of the question, we need to trade Pau, I think Pau will be amazing with Nash, but the fact of the matter is, him and Drew are just redundant. I think Pau and Dwight would be amazing but if it's out of the question I think you try and move Pau for Iggy, someone who would be great with Nash on the break, doesn't need the ball in his hands , and could guard the LBJ's and Durants as well as anybody in the league, he's pretty much the best perimeter defender in the game right now. You also try and pick up a shooter in the trade.

Nash/Kobe/Iggy/Hill(?)/Bynum is a much more fundamentaly sound team on both sides of the court.

First off guys, lets get this clear. Why would you want to trade Pau Gasol when we have Nash only to be left with Andrew Bynum? What exactly does that accomplish? This is why I was so against trading Pau at the deadline last year. Who is LA going to add this is going to give this team a chance to win today? Not 2-3 years down the line when Kobe is done. You guys need to understand you cant compete for a ring and add future young pieces that need to gel at the same time. If we hadnt picked up Nash Id be more warm to moving him but with Nash there he takes care of alot of ball movement and efficiency isues on offense.

Adrian Wojnarowski: Houston has decided to use the amnesty provision on Luis Scola and will likely file with NBA on Friday, league sources tell Y! Sports

Scola has three years and $21 million left on his contract. The Rockets are clearing space in pursuit of a Dwight Howard deal.

The Rockets will soon have the space to absorb Orlando's Dwight Howard, Jason Richardson, Hedo Turkoglu, Chris Duhon and Epcot Center.

Not sure where we are on the validity of this guy, but, since f***-all is going on...

Chad Evans ‏@ChadEvansNBA

Source believes the ‪#Magic‬ are hoping to get both Bynum and Gasol from LA. ‪#Lakers‬ aren't budging (yet?)

I still maintain that Chad Evans is credible and of course I want Howard, but if has to be at that price then forget it.

Brian Schmitz: Dwight to Houston? Man, he really doesn't want to be here in Orlando. Or L.A. 1 minute ago

John Schuhmann: Rockets trying to surround Dwight Howard with the same supporting cast he's trying to escape from.

I can't see why we'd do that now, unless Orl had a valid trade with OKC that didn't decimate their team.

David Aldridge: Source says Rockets have not made a final determination on using amnesty on Scola; could "potentially" happen Friday. @Adrian Wojnarowski

David Aldridge: Source says "multiple factors" will be at work in Rockets' decision. Obviously looking to see if there's a way to do DH12 deal another way.

Saying that the only factor that I could see us legitimately going 'All-In' for Dwight, would be if he said he'd sign in OKC and a trade was on the table that netted Dwight without giving up KD, and either Westbrook or Harden...

I'm saying we wouldn't go all in unless we have to to have a shot at getting out of the West.

Adrian Wojnarowski ‏@WojYahooNBA

There's no Howard-to-Houston deal imminent with amnesty of Scola, but Rockets goal is unmistakable: They'll stop at nothing to get him.

Oh yeah, well then maybe I would if OKC was that much of a threat. But that demand is ridiculous, I'd rather he go to Houston and hear nothing from him for the rest of the year.

I agree... Houston will be renting him for sure with how little they can surround him with anyway. No way that team beats anybody in the West without some major upgrades and the FA class just isn't that spectacular right now.

Their plan is to sell him on next offseason when some big names may be available. Paul is really the only huge name that may be available that could change the landscape, and I don't see him leaving LA or any money on the table to play in a lesser market all for the sake of playing with Howard.

Short version, I really don't see how this ends well for Houston myself. But whatever, as long as Brooklyn didn't get him I'm good. Trade Bynum for something and lets start the season.

I think From Howard standpoint, It would be better situation for him to stay in Magic than going to Houston.

I think there's a chance they may actually be drastically over-valuing Dwight at this point...
Whether that's a ploy or not remains to be seen I guess, but I think it's a dumb move considering the situation they're in...
They need to trade Dwight soon to give fans some time to get over it and give their marketing team time to sell them on the new look team.
