Pretty obvious, he's an expiring salary match for Mozgov and will get dumped just like Hibbert did.

I don't really now if this is a right move going forward, but it's depressing seeing DLo gone so soon.
The franchise wasn't so high on him as most of the fans, that's for sure, they maybe see him having a OJ Mayo or Tyreke Evans type of career.

I expect him to put AllStar numbers in Brooklyn next season.

Are you serious? Irving, Wall, Thomas, Lowry (if he stays in the east) and Walker all play point guard. Even Goran Dragic and Dennis Schroeder are better. Not to mention top level 2 guards like Derozan & Butler

Unless Brooklyn become a top 4 team in the East, it's not going to happen.

Some of you are really overrating how good Russell is. He'll be in contention to be one of the worst starting point guards in the East.

Much rather had Russell be packaged with Mozgov's awful contract as opposed being traded for George.

But some of you need to get off the pot. Russell wasn't good. All that per 36 nonesense talked yourself into, was just that, nonesense. Very few 19 year old guards had the greenlight on a terrible team to put up numbers.

It was clear as day the first time he played in summer league how unatheletic he was to reach any stardom at point guard. When you throw in his questionable decision and crap defense he showed the past two years, he pretty much turned into a small unatheltic shooting guard that sucks on defense.

The only assets worth a damn on this team is the #2 pick & Brandon Ingram. And trust me, unless Ingram greatly improves on his terrible rookie season he'll be on the move soon.

There is a reason after four lottery seasons this team still sucks. The top picks have been severely underwhelming.

You're a fool. D'lo was the best scorer on this team and had the ability to be an elite passer if he wasn't surrounded by losers taking contested 17-footers every time they actually caught one of his passes. He just turned 21 and we traded him away for an expiring contract and rookie bench fodder. Even if your assessment of Russell was right (it isn't), we got 0 value out of trading him.

If you watched the games Lou Williams was by far the best scorer and player on team before he was traded. Yes, a career sixth man was the best player on the team last season. Shows how much being the best on one of the worst teams in the league actually means.

Nobody is going to miss his sub 40% volume shooting when that can easily be replaced by virtually an sub standard player in the league.

If we end up with PG, Ball & Ingram > Russell, Ball & Ingram while dumping Mozzy's $48 million, I think most of us will be onboard... This trade is not about LeBron, it is about securing PG & creating flexibility...

That team you described is still worse than the Warriors and older and has less potential to grow. If the Lakers just end up with George and not another star that is better than him, than this will be another misstep for this franchise.

Why is this amazing. The Lakers keep offering **** or treadmill teams going nowhere talented young players with the small negative of taking back a bad contract for a couple of years and you're expecting them to say no to this?

It's like a false narrative that the Lakers had to get rid of Mozgov and Deng. For what? To get marginally better with George - or a good amount better with him and an older LeBron - only to still lose to the Warriors?
