Sure...but the fact that it was even an option in the coaches head, aughta spell out the talent level here. Same goes for the rest of them. Your coach essentially concluded that you had nothing to bring to the game. So your either behind someone amazing in the pecking order, or.....well....your prob not very good.
Completely agree. At the same time Hayes could have provided some length in stretches to slow Gobert down a bit. Get a few rebounds. Block a couple of shots.
Dunk a few times.
Gobert absolutely torched us and he torches no body!
Put some length on hike for gods sake.
I like JJ quite a bit and am glad he’s our coach.
But in the playoffs , his inexperience was exposed imho.
I can only hope and pray that Rob and JJ had a heart to heart talk about re-signing Hayes.
That last 2 games was very compelling about how JJ felt about Jaxson that the Lakers coach would rather try to play a very rusty Center like Kleber, the guy who played zero minutes with Lebron, Rui, Gabe etc before, in an elimination game rather than use Hayes.
Call me crazy and probably I am just imagining things but I just seem to me that Luka's agent, Bill Duffy, is the new "partner" of Pelinka, that just replaced Rich Paul.
Bill was aware that Rob was very desperate to sign a legit center. I can see Ayton's agent telling Pelinka that his client will sign IF he also re acquire Hayes and oh btw it would not be for the Vet minimum but at 5 Mil WITH no Trade Clause. Forget the fact that 29 other teams did NOT offer Jaxson a contract, the Lakers must sign or else....
Lakers could have tried other bigs like Thomas Bryant or Biyombo but nah.....
