Sill happy though!

2 1sts, 2 2nds and a TPE for a 2-time MVP?

u know we were only going to use those picks to dump salary anyway

This and it is still a business. Nash can offset his cost by bringing in revenue. Ticket prices and jersey sales just went up. LA also just reached into the Canadian market. Not a big deal at all as LA has been selling their firsts for years, and knowing Sarver we could buy one back years from now lol. The seconds are no biggy as we still have Goudelock, Morris, and likely Ebanks to round into shape

im fairly sure the lakers were already in the canadian market. raps arent exactly a model of success at the moment.

this only solidifies it tho.

I wanted Deron Williams. I never even dreamed Nash would come here. What a consolation prize! Such a great move for so many reasons. No defensive downgrade either, Fisher and Sessions were both sieves. Just a magnificent boost on offense with no other change. Beautiful.

Congrats again guys. Its a tough pill for us to swallow, but Steve deserves it. I hope Steve won't have to work as hard now having Kobe and co.

You guys are better off keeping Pau than Bynum if you have Nash. I know that sounds crazy, but Nash gets hampered having a huge big in the middle clogging (hence why Shaq was out of the lane with the Suns more than anywhere). Pau is a good shooter and can hang around more on the outside.

Wow. We got our much needed PG and 3 point specialist all in a single player.

Downside is that Nash is 38 years old.

Exciting times!

Thanks. And agreed on Bynum/Pau. Hopefully we'll have a different, more "superman" oriented problem next year instead of Bynum. :D

Steve Nash chose the Los Angeles Lakers over the New York Knicks, according to source. Kobe Bryant recruited him.

Hey dudes, Just wanted to say congrats on getting steve. As most of you know our fan base isnt really fond of the lakers but I for one, am very happy to see nash have a chance at a ring. And hey, it couldve been worse *coughspurs* *hackheat*. I just wish sarver would have thrown in some kind of stipulation like you cant print steve nash lakers jerseys to sell :P

There's also a terrific PR side, as the story for next year is no longer Kobe going for ring nubmer 6, but Steve Nash going for Ring number ONE. Prepare for an onslaught of "Ernie Banks of Basketball" story lines - and I mean that in a positive way!

Couple things about Nash I didn't realize - even tho I knew he was a terrific perimeter shooter - His career 42.8% on 3pt attempts is the 8th best in NBA history. And his 90.35 FT % is 2nd all time - to Mark Prices 90.39%....If he were to match any of his previousltop 5 seasons from the free throw line (certainly not an unlikely scenario) next season, he easily moves into the #1 spot...

Sorry, when my brain freezes on news like this, it goes into "stat mode".....when I woke up this morning this deal wasn't even a topic for speculation - 12 hours later apparently a done deal. For essentially (given where the addition of Nash is likely to have us picking the next 2-3 years) a trade exception and 4 second round draft picks. (Other than the $$ that are guaranteed, a check of the previous 10 draft boards shows there isn't too much difference between picks 25 -35 - bottom 1st round/top 2nd round - in terms of making a team, let alone impacting that team).

Lot of respect for Suns fans. They've been classier about this deal than Raptors, Knicks, Mavericks, Clippers or Heat fans on the GB.

Actually the Pau trade is good the clogging up the lane is the crock. Pau doesn't even go down there anymore
