Meaning the max coupled with the Cap creates a pay gap between the 'top' and the 'good' that's a little silly. Towns is better than Randle for sure, but he's not $29M/yr better... And signing him to that contract leaves what... $60M for the team to build around him with over the next 5 years?...

Honestly, I don't care what any of these guys get paid at the end of the day... But the whole cap/max thing is ridiculously skewed to make sure the top players get richer and the midling players hunt for scraps.

this sounds like the tax bill the republicans passed some months ago

Yup.... and just like the NBA.... the country is banking more revenue than ever...... :-D

Q) why are a lot of fans high on Jimmy friggin butler?

I mean really Our team is stacked at the guards and forwards spots so we don't need him what so ever we need another Big and we will be set.

But why on earth would any fan want to trade for Butler, I'm not hating on the guy, his a good player, we just got no need for him

KL, Klay and AD should be top 3 in FA/trades and I'm sure there are way more players to consider b4 even asking for a trade for Butler and for what his going to be earning, I'd like to know what you all smoking/drinking b4 saying what his worth? we just have no need for him - I just don't get the excitement some fans want him on this team???

Jimmy Butler was perfect for this team pre-LeBron... He's just not a great compliment to him, especially between Ball Ingram and him, and even moreso since we have Hart, who is turning into Butler 2.0.

^ Yeh b4 lebron, but not while we have bron - yet still plenty of fans still wanting him- especially in laker nation facebook - I'd choose KL, Klay, AD b4 going after butler first.

It's gotta be a little painful being a young player playing for the Lakers knowing that one key acquisition changes your future. The LeBron signing trumps everyone and everything. Everyone is now essentially trade bait.

Not KCP. He has to approve any trade and waive his early bird rights

Ugh 76ers look like they are going to be scary good for years to come with Fultz getting his shot back.

I get why D'Antoni would want to play Mello with Paul and Harden a lot to get them on the same page, but 30+ min a game in the preseason for the old guys? He wears dudes out and it's easy to see how the Rockets biggest issue is likely to be health.

Kobe's achilles says hello, Mike!

I think that was Kobe as much as anyone else. D'Antoni gets a bad rap for overextending guys but a lot of it was down to Sarver being a cheap ****, selling draft picks and never investing enough into the bench.

Between Murray's injury and tbe Butler fiasco in Minnesota, looks like we might make the playoffs by default.

Jimmy Butler drama is pure gold. A big part of me just doesn't want it to end.
