Monty Williams seems like a downgrade from Luke though in all honesty.

because if he's open to not being head coach, being our guard skills coach could be a boon

I think he was 100% honest in this interview. I don't think it's particularly Lonzo

It’s going to be Lue. I’ve embraced it. It’s not the way I would’ve liked to see the team go but that’s what it’s going to be.

IDK, I heard Lynda Rambis runs a Princeton offense and has Kurt Rambis for an assistant locked up.

The question should be should they wait before hiring a new POB or not but it looks like they already made the decision.
2nd star or not we will play to win next year so it should not matter imo.

If Lue brings thibs I am 110% cool with Lue. Thibs is a defensive genius and better than any assistant we have had in the last decade

Thibodeu's brand of defense which includes shrinking driving lanes and giving up jumpers has become irrelevant in the current era where 3 point shot has become the most sought after commodity on offense. Unless he reinvents himself in a major way I don't think he's that attractive as a lead assistant.

You could be right. I have to admit I am falling for Lue a little. If he is truly passionate and will look to hire the best assistants he can that is a huge plus over Luke who wanted his boys as assistants. Also the fact that he called Lebron out and will call the players out I love. No more being best friends with the players. Done with that

In the last decade Phil was still here and we had Tex Winters so no.

Mike Brown also had Eddie Jordan, Etore Messina, Bernie Bickerstaff, and Quin Snyder as his assistants so again no.

It’s Dantoni, Scott, and Luke who didn’t want a strong second guy

I was hoping MWilliams would come in as POB, and JKidd as coach - Giannis loved Kidd. Williams was an FO guy in San Antonio
