Bryant's signing will help take a huge load off of AD during the regular season.
The 5 is pretty solid now between Jones, Bryant, and AD.

Wizards fan here. Bryant might be the worst defensive big in the league. Has no lateral quickness. The ACL injury made him even worse on defense than he was before. Good signing for the likely min, but he can guard a chair.

I was hoping that they will give that spot to Jay Huff whose been impressive in the SPL lately. They guy has very long wingspan, can space the floor etc.

Run it back with the core 3 or trade away the core 3 and start over?

Also, is Pelinka a GM who has the acumen to go with “process-driven” rebuild?

I am good with either direction; however, straddling the fence and not going all-in on one or the other just seems like a really bad plan.

I agree and I've made the same request several times... Lets give our new signings the respect of their own thread... Locking this up while I do some cleanup.

OK, I'm going to open this up again... BUT ONLY FOR IDEAS/CONCEPTS!
If an actual trade happens, put it in it's own thread, or I'll lock this up again...
In fact, if there's even a verified rumor, start a thread for it... It's too confusing to track it here...

Thanks... The Management.

So if we used the stretch provision on Westbrook, could we theoretically, sign Ayton to an offer sheet?

Nope. Lebron and Davis alone make up 2/3 out of the salary cap. With THT, Nunn, Westbrook's stretched number and the other minimums, there's no money left. We'd be maybe 5 mil under the cap, if that.

Not even if you trade THT and Nunn for picks, and no salary back. It's still not close to being enough.

I'm over here in PHX and the story on the ground here is that they want to rid themselves of him. Time-bomb is the term the local radio guys toss out about him.

The Free Agency thread was a clearing house for everything. Nobody was creating new threads, they were simply dumping everything in here...
There had been complaints about not being able to find new acquisitions... So I split everything out.

This was supposed to be just the JTA is a laker thread..

There is an unstickied "trade Ideas" thread like we always used to do, about halfway down the page..

Danny, I went ahead and moved your posts, and stickied the ideas thread... Kilroy

With the recent report from Jovan Buha saying there might be a divide in Laker camp of going for Kyrie or Hield and Turner why not get all 3? There is a path…

Lakers Receive - Kyrie , Buddy and Turner
Nets Receive - THT , Nunn , Goga and 27 pick from Lakers ( Massive trade exception)
Pacers Receive - Russ, Harris and 29 from Lakers ( Gets unprotected pick from Lakers and saves a year of money going from Buddy to Harris.

Not enough incentive for Indy as Hield and Harris contracts are almost identical (both have two years remaining).

Good catch for some reason ESPN trade checker was showing an extra year on Hield.

Could just be a simpler trade.

Lakers receive - Kyrie, Harris and Turner
Nets receive - Russ 27 unprotected saves 8 mil this year in salary alone plus luxury tax.
Pacers Receive - THT, Nunn and 29 unprotected

The only team that gets a first round pick is the team that's taking on Westbrook. There's no way I'd also give a first rounder to the Nets for saving them tens of millions of dollars plus taking a player that has no other market.

Indiana Deal with Westbrook:

To LAL: Irving, Hield, McConnell
To BKN: Turner, Nunn, 2023 2nd from Lakers
To Pacers: THT, Reaves, Westbrook, 2027 Lakers 1st

Lakers Roster:

Irving/McConnell/
Hield/Walker/Christie
LeBron/Brown Jr/Stanley
AD/JTA/Gabriel/
Bryant/Jones/

Then if Brooklyn does a Toronto deal:

To TOR: Kevin Durant, Harris, Curry
To BKN: Siakam, Anunoby, Achiuwa, Flynn + 3 1st round picks, 2 pick swaps

Nets Roster:

Simmons/Nunn/Mills/Flynn
O'Neale/Thomas/Sumner
Anunoby/TJ Warren/Edwards
Siakam/Achiwua/Sharpe/
Turner/Claxton/

Brooklyn saves 25M in salary (+ luxury taxes) between the two deals, which would put them only $7M above the tax. Easily manageable with several expiring deals as the trade deadline nears.

This kid, Jericho Sims, is a Klutch client too. Why haven't we managed to get him away from NYK already? We've signed so many other Klutch clients but this is the guy I want. Not a floor spacer but really good P&R and defensive anchor type... and his hops are frikkin' insane.

Please sign him up, Jeanie! His dunks would be great entertainment and help keep the crowds happy. I'm not wanting him for the hops though, but cos his defensive potential is really high IMHO.
