Since you're looking for size (which in my opinion happens when you decrease body fat) I'd look at http://www.bodybuilding.com/fun/shortcut-to-size.html
You'll have to eat quite a bit, and it's a bit hard to maintain unless you don't have a shortage of time or funds.
Personally I train for endurance, explosion, and speed at quest speed in Riverside. Alot of bands, shoulder shrugs, toe raises, squats, dead lifts, dips, pull ups, leg press, and a whole lot of plyometrics. Pretty good price too. Much better than Adrenaline.
As for supplements, I just take Pro7 and BCAA's.

the only thing you need is whey because no protein = no muscle. supplements only useful if youve been working out for awhile imo and know how your body reacts and what it needs.

I just wrecked a deadlift at 315. Felt so awesome stacking those 5th and 6th 45s onto the bar and the bar bent!

stunnar0b wrote:Yo Slava are you still working out lifting weights? If so, any tips for a beginner? Please advise
For any beginner I suggest strong lifts 5x5. The best thing to stack size.
Once you get to benching your body weight, squatting 1.5 times body weight and dead lifting twice you can move onto more specialized programs.
Calculate your maintenance calorie level and eat 500 cals additional for bulking, get upto 2x your body weight in grams of protein in your diet per day and drink plenty of water.
For supplements get a good whey protein with bcaas in it and add creatine mono hydrate. I also take vitamin d since I have dark complexion.
I'm on my phone right now and I'll post links for you later.

Nice.
So would you recommend a 30 min run before each workout, you know, to get the blood pumping? I don't want to just bulk up, I need some cardio.
For food I'm down with chicken fish turkey and vegastables, hell I already drink a nutri-bullet kale and Spanish juice every morning. So I wondering is there a supplement I can throw in with my juice?
Also for leg workouts am I good with just quad-hamstring curls and calf raises? I have a squat rack but is that really nessesary with the other three exercises I mentioned.
What do you think?

Re: CT LIX: Sponsored By EArl, Stephano & Minimamba's gradua
definitely experiment with bulking cuz for some people 500 cals they will be putting on too much fat. i would suggest starting with 100+ calorie surplus and then slowly going up until you feel like youre putting on too much fat. theres no point of heavy bulking 500+ when you have a bunch of fat to cut with the potential loss of muscle.
i think a really lean, clean bulk is the way to go, cutting is literally the worst.

literally all you need for your legs is squats.
probably the single best exercise you can do as far as full body is squats so you shouldnt cut it out.
also i wouldnt suggest a 30 min run to warm up, at the most 5 min to get the blood flowing. if you are trying to get bigger (i think thats what you said) then cardio is pretty counter productive as you will have to eat even more calories which can be quite difficult.

My #1 recommendation for a warm up... jump rope for a couple songs on the ipod!

This whole no cardio while bulking thing is a load of ****, especially if you're not clean bulking.
Dont be jogging on a treadmill for an hour 5 days a week obviously. 5-10 minute sprint before lift each workout. I do 30 min HIITs on non lifting days aka "rest" days.

I heard that if you just bulk up eventually youll end up "fat and lazy". That run coupled with a 15 min bike run or something builds your heart up. Idk it's what I heard.

i dont even... what, who told u that?
its good to get your heart rate up and blood pumping with a jog or anything really but doing cardio burns more calories, and burning more calories means you have to eat more if you want to bulk up. thats all. its actually really simple and depending on how old u are its pretty easy to control.
and its pretty hard to be fat and lazy if you are lifting properly and going to the gym regularly.

I run 27-30 minutes a night, Sunday through Thursday. I'm 195 lb and would be heavier if I wasn't poor. You need cardio, despite what doormatt says.
