Gek would always get these that camen mason jars. Ive heard those are good. Speaking off, my mom went to El Salvador a few weeks ago and she sneaked some moonshine that's famous over there. I gave it a taste and it was surprisingly smooth. Its home made so you cant buy it anywhere.

boss asked if i wanted to do some volunteering, so i agree to go with him to the foodbank this morning and hand out food. get in my car, go to drive down a hill - solid ice apparently (we had freezing rain?). lose control, take off a mirror on a parked car and stop on a big ass construction tire. cool - minimal damage - no body issues.

girl comes out of house, offers dry place to call cops/insurance - i take her up on the offer, but all the lines are busy (100s of accidents in the city this morning apparently). while on the phone with nationwide a car comes flying down the hill and smashes into mine, which hits me into a mercedes and probably totals my car.

****. go outside, me and other driver literally climb the hill to put trash cans at the top to stop drivers from coming down. have to hold onto fence posts and branches just to not slide back down on foot. phone fell out of my pocket when i slipped and shattered the screen.

great start to my year.

/edit tire was a god send. this is a one lane road w/ cars parked on both sides and as i'm pulling off miraculous counter steering and i make it to the bottom, i see a dead end guard rail to a drop off and house, so i'm really lucky a big vehicle was there for me to land on.

yeah. hindsight i'd have done my best to climb the hill right away to stop more cars from driving over the crest. that was my mistake.

can't tell if i was lucky or had good driving ability w/ the initial incident. my e-brake timing and counter steering were top notch, but i'm the only witness :reporter:. No abs manuals ftw, amirite?

I've been to Pittsburgh and I can imagine how crazy it must be to drive there in the sleet. At least in Missouri the city used to be really good at taking care and salting the roads within an hour of snow.

I've driven to work in blizzards in St. Louis and felt safe. It's not as hilly as Pitt though.

so i went to a "pickin party" my cousin threw. included 25 musicians - banjos, guitars, mandalins, few upright bass and some fiddle. one dude was nominated for a grammy this year. blue grass mostly. the grammy dude played blues on a banjo like no ones business.

had some amazing peach shine while there. <----- point of the story.

it wasn't snow, it was freezing rain and black ice. real fun stuff. by the time i got back to my house everything was frozen with a thin layer of ice. walking on anything solid (road, side walk, some dirt) was pure slipping. \ i live one hill over and drove up it no issues, not sure why that side was so much worse, maybe because it's on the edge of a big ridge, it cools more.
