Ha if you don't like this move imagine being a Hawks fan and see Howard get traded for 2 role players and a second rd pick.

Jesus Christ why do people on this board think contenders grow in trees? Literally every team in the lottery thinks they're a contender.

Literally every team in the lottery is wrong? What's your point?

You know what I misread what you wrote. My mistake man. I don't agree that we should just give up. Paul George wants to come here and having flexibility to sign another big name free agent will get us closer to contender status than holding onto Russell

I thought about writing a big block of text about why this was such an idiotic move, but in the end decided it wasn't worth it. I'm happy that D'angelo will get a fresh start in Brooklyn. From the moment I first saw him play at Ohio State, I had him pegged as a future superstar and I'm not backing down from that sentiment. Enjoy him Nets' fans. I'll definitely be tuning into more than a few of their games myself.

Lakers fans, how did Mozgov play last year? Obviously he is nowhere near worth his contract, but was he still at least competent when he was on the floor?

Ignore his contract when answering.

He is decent. Not good or great. If he was a back up he would be good. As a starter he was out matched.

He was fine, if you didn't value defense.

Also he wasn't great value on that contract as you'd imagine

No

He is not good

A 19 year old 2nd round pick out played him

And that's not lakers goggles talking. Zubac had more double doubles in less mins/games

Mozgov was only slightly better than hibbert
USA Celtics in full effect. Amazing chemistry building experience right there for the main core of the team

Proceeds to finish 7th and shames the entire nation!

He should be very very healthy and rested when he gets to the Nets.
His shot was pretty good and his general defense was ok, but he didn't do much rim protection or challenging and he's unable to keep up with a running team.

Positives: attitude, shot out to 18-20 ft, occasionally played very good positional D, FT% around 80

Negatives: slow, bad rebounding, not much stamina, sporadic foul trouble

He played like a solid vet center who plays early and then takes heavy breaks but earns his low mid level exception money. (except making caviar money)

Just stopped by to say Im glad Magic made this trade.
1. Dlo was hype, overrated. No D no leadership, locker room cancer. Head case.
2. We got rid of Maz terrible garbage contract thanks to Mitch and Jimmy
3. Picked up an expiring contact
4.1st round pick combo with 28 and maybe Randel for PG should get him here asap.

Some of you peps are putting Dlo on a pedestal. Trust Magic and calm down. Good thing to come.

Take care mangs!! GO LAKERS. FTW!!

hei Tony Mo

what i don't like about this deal is that we could have gotten more for Dlo. say what you will about the kid we should have gotten more,

Has anyone mentioned the time when Dlo liked the tweet about lakers shouldn't draft ball? There could have very well been drama this upcoming season with Ball and Russ, but now that he is traded that wouldn't even be possible. You have to put into account that the front office knew something more than us fans, and I'm willing to be it was his attitude and lack of leadership. He didn't even take ownership that time when he fumbled the ball out of bounds after letting it roll in the backcourt. We keep talking about his potential, but he could of very well been the type of player who just cruises along here in LA, not playing defense, showing no real signs of leadership, dating celebrities, soaking in the LA spotlight, and being fine with mediocrity.

Congrats on the new accusations. You guys are going to love Lopez.

How did D'angelo fit with Ingram last year? I'm curious to see how Russell fits with LeVert's style.

All these moves feel like Rookie GM moves... Like they're all excited to make a bunch of trades just for the fun of it... I'm not seeing a reasonable plan.

lakers is one of the most valuable sport franchises in the world.

money should be the least of their worries.

if we did this just to get rid of mozgov's contract...then god and the soul of dr. buss help us.

I'll admit that I'm a fan of trading potential for multiple developed 26-28 top 5 players at their positions, but depending on what they give up for PG this has a New York Knicks Isiah Thomas feel to it....

Where are Pelinka's great negotiating skills? Seems like him and Magic are getting beat on all their trades so far.

Yeah I think I am wrong, I saw someone on twitter mention it.
