There's no denying that Green laid a ton of bricks yesterday but the score was 100-92 with 3:03 to go and what happened next?
Jokic went on a tear.
2:16 LeBron James misses 25-foot three point jumper 94 - 100

1:46 Rajon Rondo misses 24-foot three point jumper 96 - 100

1:16 LeBron James bad pass (PJ Dozier steals) 96 - 100

1:04 Nikola Jokic makes 27-foot three point jumper (Jamal Murray assists) 99 - 100

56.5 Kentavious Caldwell-Pope misses 25-foot three point jumper 99 - 100
55.0 Nikola Jokic defensive rebound 99 - 100
32.9 Kentavious Caldwell-Pope blocks Jamal Murray 's 27-foot three point pullup jump shot 99 - 100
31.8 Nikola Jokic offensive rebound 99 - 100
31.8 Nikola Jokic makes tip shot 101 - 100
26.7 Anthony Davis makes 13-foot driving floating jump shot (LeBron James assists) 101 - 102

20.8 Nikola Jokic makes 10-foot two point shot 103 - 102
20.8 Lakers Full timeout 103 - 102
6.9 Alex Caruso misses 26-foot three point jumper 103 - 102
5.3 Danny Green offensive rebound 103 - 102
2.2 Jamal Murray blocks Danny Green's jumper 103 - 102

2.1 Lakers offensive team rebound 103 - 102

Anthony Davis makes 26-foot three point jumper (Rajon Rondo assists) 103 - 105
Denver played the percentages and let low % shooters like Rondo, Lebron and Caruso take the shot from beyond 24 feet instead of Davis feasting on his 5 foot floaters or him going to the line in the final 3 minutes. Davis hit a great shot beyond 25 feet and his career % from there is 32%! Yes for this playoffs, he is shooting 40%, that's still 60% of his shot NOT going in. Now where do they go from here?
Lebron played like crap the final 5 minutes, will there by better sets next game? I sure hope so.

^yeah i know jocic went off in the last mins and we just couldn't get a point but if danny just contributed a bit more throughout the game, we would have been able to come into the 4rh in a more dominant spot like the first game.

I personally questioned A-D's ability to show up, and play big when it mattered. Wasn't calling him out.....but was pointing to the fact that he's not had too many big moments, so he's an unknown.

That said: He hit a huge shot, and was a game winner, and hopefully the nail. So far, he's shown he can perform in the big moments. Love it. Great work last night.

Lets face it, all throughout the Year ADs been called soft. Mr. 1st 3 quarters. Well at least he got us there. Mr. Get out of the way and let Bron do the rest. But he has grown. And his confidence is skyrocketing. And I am so excited, I'm ready to put my blanket and pillow and set up on the Parade route already!

I'm glad I was not the GM for the Lakers 2 summers ago bec I would have offered more years and $ to this guy and obviously I overvalued him. Having said that, Danny was a +10(lead starters), with 5 rebs, 3 steals,1 assist, 1 block.
Lakers won by 2 points with them hitting a remarkable 94% from FT line, missing ONE FT and 36% from 3. Lakers allowed 33 FTs and also committed 23 turnovers.

Mike Malone made some good adjustments to disrupt our default LBJ game, and he waited with some of the adjustments until the fourth. Tricky coach.

PJ says playoffs are all about adjustments. Nuggets adjusted after game one, we still won game two. Time for Frank to react to Malone’s revealed hand.

I say we lead by 3-0 after tonight if the coaching staff does their job.

I’d play LeBron more in the post tonight to offset their defensive plan. Let Caruso, Rondo, AD bring the ball up. Feed it to Bron in the post instead. They can’t build their wall under the basket They’ll soon have to put Millsap on him in the post. At that point, we got them. Markieff, Green, Caruso, Kuzma, AD will be open from the three and for cuts all night.

Go Lakers!

Vogel’s defensive scheme for Murray worked well, but I’d anticipate adjustments coming. I’d try to add a wrinkle to the Jokic coverage by playing AD on him up high and I’d start Howard to cover Jokic down low. We should be fine tonight.
Since the 1976 merger LAL 11, CHI 6, BOS 6, SAS 5, GSW 4

PG: Luka / Vincent / Bronny
SG: Smart / Reaves / Knecht / Mañon
SF: LaRavia / Rui / Thiero
PF: Bron / Vando / Kleber
C: Ayton / Hayes / Koloko

I agree with most of what you said esp about Vogel needs to make adjustments but I'm not sure why Malone will be more worried about the Laker's shooters rather than clog the lanes so AD and Lebron can't operate inside.
But take a look at what happened after the Lakers built an 8 pt lead with 3:03 left. Jokic went on a tear including a "lucky tip in" and ESP with a very high % 5 foot hook over a skinnier Davis.
2:16 LeBron James misses 25-foot three point jumper 94 - 100

1:46 Rajon Rondo misses a WIDE OPEN 24-foot three point jumper 96 - 100

56.5 Kentavious Caldwell-Pope misses open 25-foot three point jumper 99 - 100

26.7 Anthony Davis makes 13-foot driving floating jump shot (LeBron James assists) 101 - 102

6.9 Alex Caruso misses a WIDE OPEN 26-foot three point jumper 103 - 102

Anthony Davis makes contested 26-foot three point jumper (Rajon Rondo assists) 103 - 105

Morris, James and Rondo have had hot shooting games but they are very streaky, Caruso is shooting 26% from 3. AD has been good from 3, but I trust him more inside esp when he shoots 82% inside 3 feet. Morris before eliminating Houston in game 5 failed to hit above 25% from 3 in 6 of 9 games. James, Green,Caruso, Kuzma has been been shooting under 31% from 3 vs Denver this playoffs. As a Laker fan, I'm hoping that a couple of them would find their shot soon.
And btw, why would Denver try to form a wall again if they put the bulky Millsap on Lebron? I think they clog the lanes more bec of AD's supremacy inside and James ability to attack the basket.

We definitely could have lost the 2nd game. Malone's adjustments were good enough for a win. They'll press harder this time and earlier.
If the same situation happens again tonite in the 4th, it may very well not go in our favor.

Possibilities that this series could or would be 2-1 Denver is plentiful. We and the media would be singing a different tune at this point.

Let's get this win tonite.

This game will be important. Im assuming Vogel will adjust and Lebron will be more aggressive. No settling for step back 3's.
I think The nuggets will be a little demoralized, but they will not go down. The trick is here is to play hard for a full 48.

That ain't a trick ; it is more like a reality set in stone for this Lakers. Don't play a full 48mins

Denver missed like 4 FTs late coupled with KCP AND AD hitting late 3’s to beat the shot clock. Nuggets WON the last 2 quarters of the game, so I strongly believe Vogel and his staff needs to make the right adjustments for this game.

Im expecting a big game from Lebron tonight. Hes going to need to counteract the intensity that Denver will bring.
