Davis and Jordan

for

Simmons and Drummond

Simmons can play in the front court and distribute with his vision while Drummond locks it down as Center.

The Lakers would be more balanced, great on defense, and healthy.

The 76ers, if Davis could stay healthy, might become legitimate contenders again.

But, either way, it’s time to get Davis out of Los Angeles while he still has any remaining value.

In that case it probably means they should use Monk as a positive trade asset in the trade. There's no chance Vogel plays Kemba, Monk, Fournier and Melo in a rotation - that's too many defensive liabilities. Kemba is really going to be used how Monk is now. If Monk didn't have value you wouldn't do it but moving Monk now is smart since Lakers wouldn't be able to keep him in the offseason anyway, he's a limited time asset that they can convert into longer term assets with a trade now.

Westbrook+Monk+Bazemore is likely to be the output from the Lakers.

Option 1:
Lakers get Randle+Fournier+Kemba
Knicks get Westbrook+Monk+Bazemore

Randle is on a bad contract, it's 5 years increasing and he's barely worth his contract now. Fournier is on a worse one. Both give the Lakers no flexibility for a couple seasons. Westbrook is owed the most single-season money but only has one more year. Lakers can use him as an expiring in offseason with their 2 FRPs. That's an opportunity the Lakers lose and Knicks gain from this trade.
Lakers giving up Monk and taking on Kemba means they don't need to give up any picks in the trade.

Option 2:
Lakers get Burks+Noel+Fournier+Kemba
Knicks get Westbrook+Monk+Bazemore+Jordan

Lakers add Jordan as Knicks are giving 4 players and Noel is a pure C - they no longer need insurance for Dwight.
I value Noel+Burks as barely less than Randle, about the same value as Knicks taking on Jordan is worth. I actually prefer this trade as it gives Lakers far more longterm flexibility. And I think Burks would be a great fit with LeBron and I think Noel would work well under Vogel.

Option 2 minus monk....

Flip kemba and tht for dragic (expiring)

Trade Burks, Davis, for Seth, Simmons, Matisse.....
Or Burks and Davis and 2027 FRP for Caruso, vucevic, LaVine

Lakers would have to add the distant 2027 FRP if they don't add Monk to deal. Lakers can't keep Monk either. Seems like a waste of future assets to bet on this one season. Even if Lakers keep Monk, they aren't playing Kemba, Monk, Fournier, Melo. One of those guys doesn't get used or all of them get used less.

Uh... You're forgetting we've seen the Drummond movie already... It stunk...

I'd trade Davis in a deal for Simmons, but only if Westbrook was going out too... Otherwise, AD, how he's playing right now, I wouldn't trade for just about anyone.
Also, no point in trading for Simmons with LeBron on the team... Is Simmons going to be a shooter when LeBron runs the offense about 30min a night?

Monk+Westbrook for Randle+Fournier

Nunn, Fournier, LeBron, Randle, Davis -- Bradley, Reaves, THT, Johnson, Melo
I like this Lakers lineup.. it reminds me of championship team when McGee started in terms of size and LeBron is the PG.

Randle replaced by Reaves in the starting lineup for matchups.

Clippers just got Covington and Normal Powell for nothing. We couldn't beat that offer?! Those two would've been insanely useful for us.

Covington would have been the key difference maker for the Lakers. The fact that Clippers got him for nothing makes me think Pelinka should be fired alone. And I've never thought he should be fired before this.

Nobody wants to do the Lakers any favors. I bet gm's across the league are laughing at our mess.

Surely, Lakers could have beat that offer if they wanted. They were rumored to be interested in Norm Powell a while ago.

We didn't have the type of contracts Blazers wanted. They wanted salary relief this year and beyond. Still fair to criticize our FO sucks tho, the asset mgmt is just plain bad.

This FO is selling their soul to appease LeBron and klutch, that's the problem. Not saying this is a top 5 FO in the league or anything, but the Russ trade was a complete and total overpay for a player even casual fans knew wouldn't fit in. But, LeBron wanted him, and FO bent ass backwards to get him, giving up far more than anyone would in the process.

Why do people keep suggesting we have a chance at getting Simmons? 76ers and Nets are going to do a Harden/Simmons swap…It’s so obvious…

Westbrook+Jordan+FRP to OKC
Powell+Cov+Favors+Muscala to Lakers
Reaves+Bazemore+25mTPE+SRPs to Blazers

I mean that would not have been difficult.

Bradley, Powell, Covington, LeBron, Davis -- Nunn, Monk, THT, Melo, Favors

Maybe Lakers target CJ+Bledsoe..

CJ+Bledsoe+Winslow to Lakers
Westbrook+THT+FRP to POR
Bazemore to LAC (if expanded trade)

Bledsoe, CJ, Reaves, LeBron, Davis -- Nunn, Monk, Johnson, Melo, Howard -- Bradley, Ellington, Winslow, Ariza, Jordan

HARDEN!!!

AD, baze, tht, DeAndre...... Harden, lemarcus, and patty mills

If we think Simmons and Seth will be better than harden, than we put it in a 3 way

No way Kevin Durant gets behind Simmons over AD!

.... Ideally we deal Westbrook too and get Kyrie back... While sending harden to Philly.... Than turn around and send Simmons to Washington for Bradley Beal

Kyrie and Beal with LeBron would be lit.... If it doesn't work we kyrie and Beal will walk in the summer and we will have a lot of cap space!
