I think LaRavia beats out Knecht for the backup forward spot that remains after Lebron, Rui and Vanderbilt. I see Knecht more as a Reaves replacement but probably even more as a trade piece.

Knecht + Vanderbilt for DDV would actually be quite nice: we would save money both this year and '27 and we would still get a two way player:
Smart / Vincent
DDV / Reaves
Luka / LaRavia
James / Rui
Ayton / Hayes

I agree about LaRavia. See sig. Thinking Vando is coming in healthy for the first time in years and should not be traded right now. He, Smart, LaRavia will wreak havoc on defense. Good tonesetters.

In case a guy like Vuc becomes available as a buy-out candidate and LA has to cut a roster spot, would you guys consider flipping Rui+Knecht for someone such as Dillon Brooks?

I know he has a history with Lebron, but you also saw guys like Matt Barnes and Ron Artest butt heads with Kobe, which made KObe want to have those guys on his team.

Brooks is a solid 3pt shooter (38% on nearly 6 attempts these last couple of seasons) and a tough versatile defender. His contract is up in 2027, when LA look to add a max player.

I don't know....regarding Reaves. He turned down an 89Million dollar payday. The reports are that the next step is 30 Million Per. And that's what I don't know. Is Reaves a 30 Per player? Don't get me wrong. Highly respected. His game has progressed upwards since he got here. But 30Per is a big Deal that we usually reserve for Big Time Stars.

I don't know....regarding Reaves. He turned down an 89Million dollar payday. The reports are that the next step is 30 Million Per. And that's what I don't know. Is Reaves a 30 Per player? Reaves will be used as a trade bait come trade deadline, mutliple players included OR Lakers wait and pay him and then trade him. I doubt they'll keep him longterm, Reaves will be part of the trade that sends us our next go to guy:)

I'm sitll a fan of Kessler and would love him, Utah haven't yet to extend him just yet and deals could be done come deadline, hopes are high.
Also keen on Giannis/Wemby when they're up, long shots, but we'll see. As for Jokic not fan, but won't say no.

Suns just acquired Brooks in part of the 7 team trade that they did, If they're going to trade Brooks probably not going to be until next offseason maybe mid deadline, but more then likely next offseason, I don't see it happening

And I'm not a fan of Brooks, not just because of the bs with Lebron, but his attitude honestly don't think we need that here in LA.

the rumor mill has been full of crap, but the pervasive laker story right now is that Austin is getting 30 specifically because Luka wants that to happen. I'm a fan, I like the age pairing, and I think that is a doable and trade-able contract still. He's gotten better every year and I think 30 is doable against the inflating salary cap if you deduct Bron. I don't see it keeping us from signing a star down the road and the Lakers usually do that via trade anyway so he's either part of the salary match, or we're going full Jokic or something in 27, but I'm down with paying Reeves 30. He's going to get it and I'm not sure scraps for replacement makes sense vs a guy who gets better every freaking year.

LOL at the headline. Reaves should be kept IMO, i'm sort of changing my mind, because Bron will be gone and we need a 2nd playmaker, $25-30m should be fine IMO take a look at others around the league, heck Poole I think is getting around that, Reaves much more valuable then Poole, Reaves will prob get 5 years, but I think should be 4 years?

We only have 1 more year left with Lebronny at least I'm hoping

May 31 2002, When Shaq went to the FT line 17 times. Let that sink in, 17 FT attempts.
Vlade Divac was going crazy asking the refs, WTF is going on, I barely touch Shaq.
Kobe also shot 11 FTs. Laker haters can cry all they want because Kings flat out choke in game 7 with Peja wet the bed and couldn't hit any shots with Rick Fox having more FGs in the 2nd half than Webber.

There were hundreds of games where Shaq never got a call despite having defenders climbing on his back. No whistle. As long as he dunked it the refs let the game flow instead, looked the other way.
