There's not a GM who woukd've taken Jordan over Olajuwon or Bowie either, doesn't make it right.
There wasn't one reporter to question some of the government tactics and cover-ups after 911, that ain't right either.

Absolutely noone that had a top 5 or so pick wanted Klay Thompson either ... enter Jerry West.

I disagree with some of your points Ty, but I could give damn what others are thinking.

I love bold thinking and think it's fresh that you're in love with this dude.

Because it's a copycat league. Right now a ball dominant scoring guard is all the rage. I'll take the guy who can be productive playing with all different types of players.

Hmm..you're reaching big time

None of your points make any sense, since Russell is the superior player now,has the higher ceiling in this league considering how the game is played now,and has far less "bust " potential

And there were plenty of GM's who would have taken Jordan over Bowie, just for your knowledge

Managed to catch most of the 2nd half when Ohio St. was down by 17 before Russell spearheaded a run to get them close. Loved the way he was pushing the ball and his ability to get into the paint with low, change of pace dribbles. Missed a few 3's and a key free throw on a 1+1 down the stretch, but he needs to be put in those kinds of situations to grow as a player. Solid offball denial on defense and he can move his feet well. The big thing is that he's constantly communicating with his teammates out there on both ends of the court.

Shame we couldn't see LeVert out there, would've been a fun matchup.

You're really missing the point here. You said that there's not one GM that agrees with Ty, as if to suggest that "fact" means that he's wrong in his assessment ...

... and to that I say bull. Argue why Russell is better in comparison to Looney, not that no one agrees with him.

Some of the most profound ideas in the history of mankind were created and carried out when the world said it couldn't and shouldn't be done.

....because that's the **** truth ,you don't have to agree with me ,but keep in mind that even Ty did

He likes Looney more for whatever reason,yeah...but even he knows what I said it's true ...nobody ,NOBODY would take Looney over Russell, unless he blows up his knee or something like that

First of all, we have no idea if it's a fact or not (you're offering an opinion), but, again, the point is that even if it is true, the implications are meaningless.

The fact that "the world" disagrees has no bearing on whether, in fact, Looney is better than Russell.

It's just a very weak argument to me.

There is only one truth.

Even if everyone or the majority have one particular stance, it doesn't mean that particular stance is right, has more validity, or is more true than the stance of one "little" guy or a very small minority.

The fact that this could very well be our highest pick in the next 30 years to me means it needs to be an absolute grand slam. Not sure we should draft anyone that would harm Randle's development. Unless they are sure fire.

That said, Mitch apparently ranks players and then goes into draft day knowing who he'll pick where.

I hear you Ty on the guard heavy, copycat league. We need to differentiate ourselves if we're going to hope to rise above. And from the looks of it, there's a good chance our pick will be a big.

I hope we don't have to make the choice between last year's 7th pick and this year's in terms of development and position. There's been a number of head scratching recent draftings not based on need and it just seems to screw with chemistry and confidence.

Hope Mitch makes the right call. Otherwise, ****.

For those that missed Looney @ Arizona. Dude was clearly fouled on his driving attempts, but the guy who does the video breakdown is overly harsh to justify DX dropping him to 13.

Looking forward to their video on Stanley Johnson who had a stinker yet remained at 5.

I whole heartedly expect the Lakers to draft Russell if they come on the clock and he's there. PG can be addressed through free agency with how deep the spot is in the league, not to mention they are keen on developing Clarkson - I'd be surprised if we took another 1.

We don't have a long term solution at the 2 post-Kobe era and given how shallow that position is in the league I think they would rather address it when given the chance.

Based on what you've seen of Russell, if the only other offensive option in a hypothetical starting five is Randle, what player, past or present, would be the be the perfect "type" of player to compliment Russell's game?

We know Iverson needed Snow and Kobe needed a guy like Fish, who would ideally be the best fit next to Russell?

Harden FR:

28.3% Possessions, 26.9% of Shots, 58.6 eFG%, 63.2 TS%, 24.7 Assist Rate, 60.2 FT Rate

Russell FR:

29.4% Possessions, 29.3% of Shots, 56.0 eFG%, 59.0 TS%, 30.9 Assist Rate, 28.8 FT Rate

FWIW, Trey Burke's SOPH year is Russell's number 1 comp... statistically that is.

If you go Towns, Okafor, or Looney, you can always select Melo Trimble with the Houston pick.

Trimble FR:
63% TS, 74.8 FT Rate, 21.2 Assist Rate, only using 22.1% of the teams shots.

I don't think he guards either position particularly well, but I'd rather save him some energy by having him guard off the ball so he can be effective at his strength, which is on the offensive end.

You think he could handle "all" the ball-handling duties? Or at least 80% of them?
