I think Saltine was just criticizing the Gasol/Love trade rumors, not the Beasley rumors. It's a moot point in the end since we all value them differently and it's not a new proposal.

The main issue is whether or not his remark was appropriate. Simply put, I don't think it was necessary to make that comment, he doesn't strike me as being a troll, it's an old issue, and now I hope this debate would just die already.

You should read the conversation (in the thread about Beasley):

Saltine wrote:Beasley is a RFA. We don't need money, and Kahn doesn't need the cap space. You guys just don't have anything at all to trade us, sounds like more LA media making things up for clicks, just like the Love BS...

Unless LA comes up with a three way deal involving a team that has a SG for us, I can't see anything happening between our teams. You can't trade Kobe or Bynum, and Pau has no value to us.

dockingsched wrote:don't let your small market insecurities cloud your reading comprehension. the article was from an espn ny based writer, not LA media...and all it said was that the lakers were interested in Beasley, not that your pooor wolves would be willing to deal him.

Saltine wrote:if you guys think the media doesn't have an LA/NY bias, you need to get out more :-)
We've never wanted Pau, Kahn said so last week in our media.

The end.

Call in hye and myself too. We're going on a Pancho Villa expedition to Minnesota. The rest of the Minny fans are alright.

Darko and Ellington haven't started in ages, both are bench players when healthy.

looks like kobe probably won't play:

https://twitter.com/#!/Mike_Bresnahan

Just looked at NBA's new concussion policy. There's only a slim chance Bryant plays Weds vs. Minn. Among the particulars of new policy, players must be symptom-free for 24 hours and then go through increasingly tough stages of exercise w/o showing symptoms after each stage. Stages include stationary bike, jogging, agility work and non-contact drills. Then NBA concussion doctor would have to be consulted.

I watched a report on ESPN, around 2pm, and the chick said there was no concussion.

hope you're right, though that would make the press release from the lakers themselves wrong

http://www.nba.com/lakers/news/kobe_bry ... 02_28.html

EL SEGUNDO—Los Angeles Lakers guard Kobe Bryant, who suffered a nasal fracture in Sunday’s NBA All Star Game in Orlando, Florida, was examined today in Los Angeles by ear, nose and throat specialist Dr. John Rehm, who confirmed the fracture and also referred Bryant to neurologist Dr. Vern Williams for further examination. Dr. Williams’ diagnosis after evaluating Bryant was that in addition to the nasal fracture, Bryant also suffered a concussion in Sunday’s game.

Bryant will be re-evaluated tomorrow by Dr. Williams, and his status for tomorrow night’s game has been listed as day-to-day.

Lakers say that in addition to the nasal fracture, Kobe also suffered a concussion in Sunday's All-Star game.
