ok, first of all, if thats what you meant, then you should have said "Klay turned down more money to play with Dallas". Otherwise its gibberish

Second of all... huh? what do you mean he took less money to play in Dallas? Show me literally any evidence of that please.

Oof. Struck a nerve. And yeah. Klay took less money to play in Dallas. Lakers offered him more to go back home and he said no.

Eh, I haven’t seen any reports showing what total he turned down. Easy to turn down a 4 year deal worth for example $55-$60 mil in favor of a 3 year deal worth $50 mil since you’ll likely make more in the end.

no, no, no. our friend here has it on good authority that Klay turned down more money (or less money as he originally put it). I'm still waiting on the evidence he has for that. hes taking a while but im sure its just because hes carefully vetting his sources.

Meaning no need to worry about returning only expiring type players. Nor combing our top assets for a high end 2way player.

I suggest the following

CHI… DeRozen 20M - 22.5M ish, Drummond (2) 2nds for

LAL…Vincent, #17, any matching expiring scrub(s) of your choosing, and a future 1st.

Drummond already signed with the Sixers.

Brilliant idea, Drummond is a 76er already though.

DeMar for Dlo feels possible but I think a trade with Nets for CamJ is the big fish.

ok so i have a question... and i think im gonna get killed for asking it. Hearing myself ask it initially it sounded crazy but now actually I think its a legit question and Id love to know if im crazy...

Is Cam Johnson better than Rui Hachimura? I know it sounds nuts, but before you come at me go check both of their numbers. Theyre very similar, and strangely enough Rui has the edge. Not only that, Rui is 2 years younger and makes less money. Is Cam Johnson really an upgrade?

glad you crawled out from under your rock to respond, but arent you needed in one of the various Clippers thread to sell your fanbase a bunch of copium after your team just got worse?

At this point, throw a 1+1 offer at DeRozan and see if he bites. Otherwise, sign some guys who you might be potentially able to flip for an asset or two next offseason.

Hiring JJ as the coach was a mistake. There's a perception that if you join LBJ, you're coming to play for him, not with him, and making LBJ's podcast buddy the head coach only reinforced it.

One of the concerns I had about LBJ late in his career is thar he has repeatedly said he'd take a step back and let whatever team he's on be the other star's team, and he hasn't been able to do that. Maybe he gets there before he retires, but maybe not.

Possibility for the Lakers right now.
Make this a tank year. Don't pick up anybody else on any kind of big contract. Let Davis go for as many stats as he can get to make his value as high as it can be (forget winning, just go for those padded stats) - than trade him next year when his value is at it's highest.
Let Bronny get as much play time as he can to make his old man happy (why not even let him be a starter).
Next year, hopefully Lebron will finally retire (after getting to play a season with his kid, with lots of playing time). Trade Bronny (if there's any interest). Trade AD. Trade pretty much everybody (maybe even the front office) and start a complete rebuild.
Like people always say, LA normally doesn't have to worry about getting people to play for them, and a complete / fresh rebuild might be a good way to get a few really good high-profile players who want to get together and make the next iteration of LA their team.
Right now there really isn't any realistic way for LA to compete with the top teams in the West, so just use this year to set themselves up for the future.

Similar value maybe but CamJ takes shots in ways that Redick respects. He likely is the number one Lakers target. The CamJ curl, run and shoot.

1. The Lakers can’t tank. The Pelicans have our pick.

2. Bronny isn’t a priority and is a project. They drafted him to have a feel good moment with his dad. He needs a few years in the G league, and should not be getting regular NBA minutes.

Cam Johnson is at the top of my wish list too but how much better is his defense though compared to Rui?
How many FRP's do the Lakers need to give up just to get him?
How about DFS?
Lebron said before that they need "lasers", their new HC is a shooter, how about Kennard, Hield? do they play good enough defense?
