Len is a good stopgap center at this point. If he performs well this season he would be a good third string center next season. At this point, I would start Jax and make Len the back up. Jax looked good in the alley oop plays against the Jazz and could run the floor. Goodwin looks good too after a couple of games and if he continues to out play Shake or Cam then we need to make a room for him in the playoffs.

Hayes is definitely better, but as stated below sometimes you just need 6 hard fouls from someone the size of a better big.

Koloko and Jemison are two-way contracts, not eligible for the playoffs.

Christian Wood was just waived.

We have so many wings, and will have only two centers in Hayes and Len.

Not sure Rob is done with the buyout market yet. It’s until March 1, right?

Will be interesting to see the fallout from the Mark Williams situation.

Regardless, i think Jordan Goodwin looks legit, so i'd cut Morris and sign Goodwin.

After that, i think it's about getting best available players.

Bones Hyland would be interesting and a bit of an upgrade from Shake Milton.
Larry Nance Jr. would be ideal.
Delon Wright would be great as a defender.

How is Nance these days? Haven't really watched him much.

As for Goodwin yes. He can be our Collin Sexton, type off player off the bench.

Well, that's the thing. They have Fox now, which makes CP3 kinda redundant. They should be starting Fox and Castle and play at their pace. But because of politics, they're kinda forced to play CP3. They're likely not making the playoffs, much less winning a title so i wouldn't rule out CP3 asking for a buy-out.

After the len signing, we only have cap room for 1 more buyout candidate?

And i am sure that buyout camdidate should earn a salary below MLE before being waived

Yup.
You need 5-6 hard hits per game on the dude jokic to keep him in his lane.

Hope Len turns out to be a pseudo Dwight..

So according to Mr google, Lakers can still convert these 2-way contracts to standard full contracts if they want to use these players for the playoffs.

Jemison is 6-11 260 lbs and seems mobile enough to switch and cover ground.
I don't think they will need to play this 3rd center many minutes, just certain situations when they have to play huge guys like Jokic, Edey, Adams, Zubac etc.
And there are very limited options now who are tall enough and at the same time hold their ground and not be pinned down inside.

Why does everyone want to cut Cam Reddish? He's so valuable on defense.

Because he is such a liability on offense. Teams intentionally leave him open and clog the middle instead to prevent Lebron and Reaves from penetrating and he still just shot under 29% from WIDE OPEN 3's this season. :banghead:
Plus they already have DFS AND Vando to play great defense.

I dig your plan. I like Jemison as a bruiser.

I did not know that, but we can still only have 15 on the roster, correct?

I’m good with Jemison and Goodwin, hoping Nance is still mobile. High ball IQ.

Ok ok ok hear me out!
[looks right, looks left]
Whispering:
Ok what if the relationship between the Hornets and Mark Williams is so damaged because they traded him, then when the trade got rescinded they want to dispute the Lakers claim so the trade stands and Williams just say effe it and buy me out, can the Lakers pick him up without giving up any assets?

Nance and Boucher are not getter bought out I guess?

Is there a possibility we can still with 2 players if we sign them later?

Lakers now fit for playing a faster pace with small ball line up.

I'd sign Stanley Johnson as back up for DFS's role and Goodwin as guard stopper.

Keep at least 2 defensive unit player i.e. DFS Vando Gabe, Stanley and Goodwin anytime

Hayes for different set plays/style

Return to Los Angeles Lakers
