I believe Houston has to be our target. They have the least experienced. And if we can squeeze them into a 2nd round matchup, that should guarantee us Final 4 status

Houston and Memphis our targets yes.
We're going to run into okc; it is inevitable. But they don't scare me.

Ideal situation would be Denver and gsw in 4/5

The only team that still scares me is Denver. They can still beat us in a 7 game series. They aren't going to show their whole hand to us. Everyone saying bring on Denver I say avoid them. ...

1 okc

4/5 denver gsw

2/3/6/7 lakers rockets grizz clips wolves etc

Best scenario ^^^

There's really no shot at 2 seed. Even if we go 6-1 (lose only to one okc game, and beat Houston again) ..Houston will need to lose another two games to drop below us.

We have to either gun for 3 seed or just stay in the 6th seed.

OK ill say it. It looks like Rob Pelinka F'd up. As it looks like Connect will be less and less needed, less of a role, and diminished playing time. Meaning, he should have went all in on the Hornets trade.

Not sure what you mean here.
1) They had to rescind the trade due to medical issues they uncovered (whatever they are; I'll give them the benefit of the doubt here)
2) what more could he have added? Already the trade was already lopsided on our end. Dalton, couple of big picks, reddish

All true. But going into the Big Dance, coach is starting to show his hand. Reddick is leaning and revealing his lineups and rotations. And what it's lookin like, Rui, vando, Smith etc...are gonna suck up all the Minutes. So is there really a need for connect? Based on rotational value? And last I seen, this dude is still on and playing for the Hornets. Not injured. Not out of the the rotation. Meaning, still playing and healthy. It's lookin like Rob shoulda stuck with his guns and pulled the trigger

ok, well playoffs rotation of 9 or 10 was going to look like this anyways: Luka AR Bron DFS Vando Rui Hayes Gabe Goodwin Jemison
the rest are going to be mostly sitting on the bench even with the playoffs roster being set to 14 (or 15?) (which will include Dalton)
in most cases, a playoffs coach will only run those 9 or 10 into the ground as much as possible. the rest of the team will be sitting and cheerleading mostly. Doesnt mean we need to cut these players as they are valuable during the regular season and the future as in trade and development or future rotation as they get to be more solid players hopefully. Dalton he's just a newbie, keep him he's valuable for next year he may be a key rotational piece.
And about Williams, yeah what are you going to do. Would have been great, but vision is clear in hindsight. What is Rob supposed to do, go against the medical findings? That would have gotten him in hot water w both the ownership and with fans if Williams turns up running into some season ending injury again. Rob made the best decision at that time. Certainly could have done something better than Len though. I can agree he mucked it up here. I still think dwight would have done way better here than Len. Or even McGee from Puerto rico.

CURRENT RELEVANT RECORDS:
ROCKETS 49-27
mcnuggets 47-28
LAKERS 46-29
GRIZZLIES 44-31
GSW 43-31
WOLVES 43-32
CLIPS 43-32

TODAY'S RELEVANT GAMES:
MINN VS mcnuggetz (minn needs to win this one)
MEMPHIS VS GSW (grizzlies need to win this one)

-----
We want to stay in either 6th or 3rd seed:

--
Stay in 6th seed: We need (now, we NEED to) LOSE four games. To obtain a final record of 49-33

FOR EXAMPLE:
Apr 3, 2025 10:00 PM ET v.Golden State LOSS
Apr 4, 2025 10:30 PM ET v.New Orleans
Apr 6, 2025 3:30 PM ET @Oklahoma City LOSS
Apr 8, 2025 8:00 PM ET @Oklahoma City LOSS
Apr 9, 2025 7:30 PM ET @Dallas
Apr 11, 2025 10:30 PM ET v.Houston LOSS
Apr 13, 2025 3:30 PM ET @Portland

Why?

WOLVES 43-32
CLIPS 43-32

These two will definitely lose AT LEAST one more game each. If so, we will clinch 6th seed.

---
Go to 3rd seed: We at Most should lose two games (dont matter, even if we lose to GSW). To obtain a final record of 51-31
AND
***mcnuggetz have to have at least same final record as us 51-31

FOR EXAMPLE:
Apr 3, 2025 10:00 PM ET v.Golden State LOSS
Apr 4, 2025 10:30 PM ET v.New Orleans
Apr 6, 2025 3:30 PM ET @Oklahoma City LOSS
Apr 8, 2025 8:00 PM ET @Oklahoma City
Apr 9, 2025 7:30 PM ET @Dallas
Apr 11, 2025 10:30 PM ET v.Houston
Apr 13, 2025 3:30 PM ET @Portland

*** The rub here is that I dont see mcnuggetz losing three more games to 51-31. That means for this 3rd seed aspiration, we really cannot lose more than one tbh.

Rockets and mcnuggetz play at home against the jazz and spurs tonite.

Hopefully a miracle happens and one of them loses.

Looks like top 5 west are now GSW included and Memphis faltering towards play-in.

Again
Best scenario is

To have GSW denver and OKC all in the same bracket, so they can battle it out and (if we get to the conference finals) we only face one of them.

I agree. I do personally would want them to shoot for 2 or 3 but who knows what they're doing. Some weird losses we've had.

Yeah, a few weird disengaged losses indeed. Can’t stand that stuff if that’s what it is. I thought CP3 proved that it doesn’t work to cheat the game.

I don’t know, but PJ (with 11 rings) does and he claims that you win when you do right by the game by trying to win. John Wooden had similar thoughts about the importance of honoring the game.

2) ROCKETS 27 loss column
3) LAKERS 29
4) mcnuggets 30
5) GSW 31

Things looking good.
3 seed here we come.
mcnugs and gsw in 4/5 this is grrrrrreat
Keep this up ...

------------

edit

We need to beat gsw tonite. VERY CRUCIAL.

LOSS COLUMN
2) rockets 27
3) lakers 29
4) denver 30
5) gsw 31

A win tonite over gsw will essentially kick gsw out of the race in this thread going forward .

Then we will only have to worry about/focus on rockets and denver till the end of reg season (even if we lose both games to OKC)

----------

edit

if clips can get us in the first round that would be amazing.

I cant wait how this turns out, hopefully Kawhi harden Powell and Zubac will be at FULL FORCE so we can have an epic LA battle.

Lakers currently in 3rd place but can finish 7th and be forced to be in the play in, if they lose to OKC and Rockets/ or 1 game vs bad teams.
GSW(1 game vs Houston)Clips and TWolves have a relatively easy schedule.

Exactly. ....

This is what I was going to post just now.

Things not looking great now since it is

VERY POSSIBLE

To lose both games to okc, lose to Houston, and lose one of Dallas and Portland (Portland ain't a walk in the park) or both.

Looking at worst case of 4 losses will definitely put us square into play-in. Not 7th, but 8th.

We have to win one of the okc
And two of three remaining games.

That'll still put us in a possible worst case 5th seed.

Only team I'm worried about now is gsw.

I don't see them losing another game.
At most, one game (clippers has to beat them last game)

This will put them in at 32 losses.

We lose 2 to tie them at 32 we get 3rd seed.

Can we just lose two?
Can gsw lose one game more? Most likely they win out their remaining games which puts us at a shaky spot.
We can run into Denver in 4/5 seed match up.

We cannot lose more than one game.

Let's get 3 seed

LAKERS WILL BE 3RD SEED.

Basketball gods sometimes have this weird sense of humor, Lakers get 7th, then beat the Rockets.
GSW OR Clippers upset OKC,
Then Lakere beat GSW in the WCF AND meet the the freaking Celtics in the Finals. :D
