The only time I went to Hanoi was at the airport.

I just had a meeting with a Canadian photographer who lived in Hanoi for 6 years. He said, and I quote, it's a cesspool in Hanoi.

Here's some links if you want to learn more about Hanoi.

Well that got me worried a bit. Though you can say that anywhere though.

Nothing to worry. It's a nice place to visit. Just living and working there is another story.

To Pimp a Butterfly is the X-Box one of rap albums.

kind of agree, at least the xbox one accomplishes its main goal of playing video games, whereas to pimp a butterfly is barely rap.

Been on a serious Wire marathon lately... But halfway through the 3rd season, I think I'm burning out. I don't like anyone on the show now... Bubbles maybe, but it feels like the fired half the writers or something. All this manufactured drama.

Kendrick's lyrics are still fire in TPAB.

Maybe the beats aren't flashy enough for continuous radio play but his rhymes is what got me entertained. Sure it would be nice to have the sick beats with the rhyme play to match it.

But Im still happy with the lyrical content which to me is the most important.

Heard great things about the Wire just never started up yet.

Been watching "Better Call Saul" every Monday though and that show is just as good as Breaking Bad if not better.

hip hop and rap don't always see eye to eye. personally i love jazz and funk so hearing rap over it made me giggly.

I thought Marlo's entrance just took the show to another level for me plus you have the classic Avon - Stringer betrayal. I didn't care much for Carcetti but even that was entertaining to see a mayoral election campaign from behind the scenes.

Season 2 is the only downturn if you can get through that, the rest is back to awesomeness.

The tracks I did like were the ones already out there before the album released. Blacker the berry was my favorite track, possibly one of his best verses in that.

yeah the album doesn't have the "let me pick song a, b and c and bump on repeat" appeal. It's by far the best when it's listened to straight through and I think Kendrick wanted that (he's a smart fella). It's refreshing to hear an album in 2015 vs the modern style of cramming as many singles into an album as possible. I won't be bumping it as much as section 80 and GKMC tracks for that reason, but it will get replays in my library.

that feels like BS to me, if kendrick wanted to make an experimental album he shouldve released it as a mixtape or EP a year ago and actually given us a follow up to GKMC, not this. i dont think to pimp a butterfly is bad, but i just cant get into it at all after listening multiple times. i have no problem with jazzy hip hop or lyrical hip hop either, im a big fan of nujabes and shing02, i even **** with Logic sometimes too, but this is not Kendricks bag, its not what makes him great.

GKMC was great because it was not only a throwback to hip hop albums that played out in full like a story, but it also had great singles. this album has neither of those elements and really only needs to be played in full because it would be **** going track by track like they were singles.

this is just not what i was expecting, and its not a pleasant surprise either. it certainly isnt bad, but that doesnt mean its good or that i am really interested in hearing it again anytime soon. like i **** wanted a fire hip hop album from the best rapper in the game, and i got this **** and im very salty.
