What up bro. Hows your mandarin going? I'm learning so much here in Jinan.

I gave up man. I can't even talk properly in English.

Really? It's easy. Just learn to speak. Forget reading and writing because learning 5000 to 10,000 characters is way too tough.

So far all I hear is... "Xu xie NIG GA NIG GA xu xie NIG GA NIG GA"

Starting to think China invented that word too along with spaghetti noodles and the burrito wrap.

I felt the same so that's why I quit a long time ago. I always felt like I was meant to have a good, successful life and take care of my family. When I was playing, being one of the elite on Xbox Live doesn't have anything to do with that. Sure it's fun, but it was a waste of time, energy, and effort when I thought about it.
I rather be healthy, work hard, meet lots of people, travel as much as I can, and just enjoy life; I can't accomplish any of that sitting at home playing games.

Same goes to one of my friends in Vietnam. He tells me he wants to drive a Camaro, become more independent, learn Mandarin, get married with his girlfriend, and yet all he does all day is play video games. He finally told me he quit playing last week.

you make it sound so very black and white when life is not like that. as if playing video games actually hinders you from being successful and enjoying things in life, which no offense if thats what you mean, is sort of (Please Use More Appropriate Word). if you cant balance things in your life then obviously anything can stop you from enjoying it. if not video games, then food, or drugs, or tv or something like that. video games are fun, theres no reason you cant sit around and play them and still have fun in life. i do it. its not hard. if people feel they cant do that then thats okay too, but lets not pretend like video games are the problem, its the person and their personality with the problem.

Its simply a waste of time like I said. Video games can be addictive enough to choose it over something more productive to your life. You spend money, time, energy to do something that can take hours out of your day for what exactly? Just for fun? I found other things more fun so thats why I don't play them any more. There may be a benefit of video games to you, but for me there isn't enough benefit with all things considered.

not really. microsoft's conference was pretty app heavy, only took them roughly 45 mins to go over their game lineup. the rest of the time was spent showing kinect's new features and streaming apps like nba league pass.

nintendo's had the best presentation so far and they haven't even held their e3 press conference yet. i don't know what they're going to do at e3, but their video yesterday has stolen the show. ubisoft's press conference was pretty good too.

word is that nintendo is spending the whole time going over wii U games since they talked sunday about the controller and stuff

wednesday will be all about the 3ds

but thats the point, you cant bash something just because you feel like its a waste of time/money. people do the same thing with drugs. they say you will waste your life on it, and its a waste of time/money, that prevents you from enjoying life. obviously theres truth in this but you cant bash the actual thing and say thats the problem. its almost always the person imo, never the substance or thing. video games arent the problem, people not taking responsibility over their lives is the problem. lets leave video games out of this is all im saying, they have hurt nobody and are not a problem. i would say the same for drugs to a certain extent. and when i say drugs, i mean like weed and hallucinogens, not icky stuff like crystal meth. that **** **** up yo.
