A professor I was working with used 4 months of my work, published and got accepted to Nature, then screwed me out of publication credit. I've been feeling like **** all day. The dark side of people working in science and academia is pretty terrible.

He credited the work to my boss, so there's nothing I can do. My boss promised me I'd get the credit along with her basically because I did all the work and she pays my salary, so he either blindsided my boss or they both tag teamed to screw me over.

Sounds like the latter. Sorry to hear that man. You'll be alright though. Take it as a lesson learned. 'There is no great genius without a mixture of madness.'

I hope so, I had high hopes on this one and a publication like this would support my green card petition as well. I just need to find a new job now after this, the writing on the wall can;t be any clearer.

That sucks Slava... Sorry to hear that. It's tough when a company owns your work. You're never really sure who to trust.

or here.

damn bro. can't you raise this to the higher ups? no way HR can help you out? for sure you have communications via email that can support your claim to the publication, even just at least co-authorship could do you justice.

Nah man, I'd basically have to implicate my boss for scientific dishonesty if I go that route but yeah I can do it if I was a spiteful ****.
