So Lue wasn’t even their #1 option and Monty Williams was? And then they lost Monty Williams to the biggest idiot in the world Robert Sarver and the Phoenix Suns??

Seriously, Robert Sarver being chosen over the Buss family should be considered hitting rock bottom and I think Jeanie needs to re-evaluate everything after that.

Consider the source man. It’s easy money to make up stuff about lakers drama. Woj hates the lakers and he likes clicks as does espn and all the stupid bs media. The more drama that keeps being wrote about is showing that it’s pretty obvious we are the sexy topic in the nba right now for clicks.

This would be a great get by us if we can do it. I personally don't want Thibs here. His defense is outdated now. Wouldn't lose any sleep if he says no to us.

If Lue can assemble a great coaching team with him it would go a long way to making his hire more palatable.

Woj is an extremely bitter person and is fully anti Lakers now. Trying to paint not choosing Monty Williams as some sort of blunder...…. lmao. it would be funny if it wasn't such a pathetic naked attempt to make us look bad.

We chose Lue. Never offered Monty anything. How did we lose out on him.

How? What has Lue done to show he can actually coach, he nearly had the Cavaliers out of the playoffs for crying out loud (in the east), yes they got to the finals but that was basically in spite of him (Raptors choked, Celtics and 76ers showed their inexperience).

I’m not a fan on Mr. James but I bet he plays out of his mind next year. Also Lonzo will be better, Ingram will be better, kuzma will be better and we will have one more piece this year in Kyrie or Kemba or maybe even Leonard. I’m calling it next year at least 52 wins.

Who's leaking this Williams stuff? Who's so stupid as to not see how bad that will look for this team?

Or is it simply BS?

It seemed like a foregone conclusion that Lue was the the front-runner... It even seemed like that was the case after meeting with all of them the first time...

So why, after williams goes to Pho, do we all of a sudden think Williams was the best option?

Maybe Williams was willing to take a lot less because Lue was sure he was LeBron's preference?

I've never seen such a anti-Laker "journalist" like Woj. Absolutely disgusting.

Woj was butthurt when Jeanie went public to deny the reports written by him. He then wrote another article how the Lakers were a mess, even mentioning that they had the worst record in the last 6 years. He ignored the fact that at least 2 straight years, Lakers had to really tank games to not give up those precious picks to Sixers.

Great if true

Just a little research about Vogel. Indiana ranked 1st twice in defensive rating, they dropped to 7th best when PG just played 6 games, Hill also just played 43 games while West missed 16 games. Yes, having veterans who plays hard play a huge factor.
The year he got fired in Orlando, they ranked 18th on defense and most of his starting 5 missed 25 games like Gordon, Fournier,
and Vucevic while Payton missed 44 games., Monty's team were consistently bad even with Anthony DAvis, ranked 28th, 27th and 22nd his final 3 years with New Orleans.

In my previous life as a sideline reporter for ESPN Radio at the N.B.A. finals, I had the opportunity to observe countless Cavaliers huddles during timeouts over three consecutive postseasons. That blessed gig gave me the chance to watch the way James and Lue interact in game situations from very close range.
So I can confidently say, as much as any outsider can, that Lue will coach LeBron as firmly as anyone can. I’ve actually seen it happen.

This seems to be the perspective of everyone with first hand knowledge of the Lue-Lebron relationship, despite the loud and forceful opinions of those that aren’t really in a position to know.

I still think stein is the most credible source out there outside of Aldridge

To me one of the most important questions for a bringing in a Coach is who will they bring in as Free agents.

Will Kawhi, Klay, Kyrie play for Ty Lue.

I think Kyrie will but what about Kawhi or Klay?

I want the best coach who can land Kawhi or Klay if that can help then that is the guy I hire.

Kawhi & Lebron with the crew will be a monster to deal with in the playoffs.

Per our best friend Woj:

Negotiations between the Los Angeles Lakers and Tyronn Lue have reached an impasse without a deal to make him the franchise's next head coach, league sources told ESPN on Wednesday.

Discussions have included talks on contract and assistant coaching staff, sources said.

Among Lakers hopes on a Lue staff: Jason Kidd. He made a strong impression with management in his head coaching interview and had a productive history with Bucks developing young talent.
