Loving our team.
Damn Pelinka!
When LBJ and AD actually let him do his job, he kills it.

When Reaves is a lock, Pelinka will have killed it.
Except that one player who only plays offense. Sigh. Why?

Re: Lakers offseason 2023
I think 35m/year combined for Dlo and Rui is something we have to be be happy about. The split ratio is a little different than I expected, but overall it’s great value

Re: Lakers offseason 2023
Can we still re sign Lonnie? Insurance in case max Christie or jhs Arent ready to backup reaves. Lonnie >> Beasley. I think that and another vet min big and we are ready to rock
Warspite:
Prince + filler for Kobe Bryant
To be honest the way Prince has played and with Kobes injury/age/mileage Im not sure I would do that deal either. Still Prince is more important and he wins the head to head battles with Kobe.

I was also wondering why the wait with AR.
To a team like POR now in rebuild mode, Reaves and also Vando are excellent pieces to put with J Grant and their rookie. And, D Lo covers them for some lost buckets.
Do it, Portland!
I’d guess we’d have to include more young talent (Fino and future picks) as well as take on the Nurkic deal.

Lol holy sht that’s a great deal but AR needs to fire his agent. I wanted the kid to get paid big bucks, he deserves it

Our forwards rotation of LeBron, Rui, Vando and Prince is tough, versatile and big.
Our bigs of AD and Hayes are good and athletic.
Yeah…it’s a hell of a team. Just a really good 10 man rotation. No reason for LeBrom to play more than 28 minutes per night.
Plus lots of tradeable contracts if we need to, no bad deals to worry about. Pelinka just out here hitting home runs left and right.
I'd still expect a veteran guard to be signed - just to insure our 4th guard spot if neither Christie nor Lewis or Schifino lives up to the expectations. Rodney McGruder developed a great reputation as a veteran teammate and he has been shooting 41% from 3 in the past 3 seasons (on average).
A two-way big (like Huff) would also worth to be added to increase depth, while saving us room (and a roster spot) for buyouts.

Re: Lakers offseason 2023
Ok so with Beasley and Bamba waived and DLo, Rui, Austin resigned to reasonable deals, does that mean we had the full MLE to work with? Prince was BAE, Vincent got less than MLE, so we still have full MLE - Vincent's 1st year deal to work with? We need another C IMO, pref a stretch 5, i would like to bring back Bamba for whats left of the MLE. Could use another vet min PG too.
C - Bamba, AD, Hayes, Vando
PF- AD, Rui, Vando, Prince, Reddish
SF- LBJ, Prince, Rui
SG- Reaves, Vincent, JHS
PG- DLo, Vincent
This is a deep team with size and can afford to give AD and LBJ some load management here and there. Bamba at the 5 gives a crap ton of spacing with the starting lineup. Vincent combs both guard spots and JHS gets to be broken in slowly or if he balls out can carve himself out some solid PG in the backcourt.

Re: Lakers offseason 2023
Wow. Reaves retained on arguably the best contract in the league right now (ignoring rookie deals).
That’s really not fair..

Agreed. We’re thin up front. A stretch 5 rim protector would be great. I’d give Mo another try, but I’d also be happy with Tristan back. Plumlee is a good option, too.

Jason adding more size is gonna be key down the stretch. Denver, celtics, bucks etc I believe can be better defended if and when needed

Not sure why he didn't go for 1+1 or 2+1 with PO, to increase his salary more quickly.
Maybe the offers just didn't materialize like they expected or maybe he didn't want to risk injury or maybe not getting all the foul calls.
After all, foul baiting ended for other players like Trae and Harden after a few seasons.
As for Dlo, maybe a sentimental deal since the team drafted him. Wonder if he was going to get that much elsewhere.

Re: Lakers offseason 2023
Honestly this is the most hype I’ve been during the offseason in four years. Pelinka absolutely killed it.
