Draft rights to Mirotic would be great for both sides. You won't have minutes for another PF anyways. If you want us to eat Boozer's contract after we strike out in free agency, it will cost you a couple of first round picks.

In that case I think Id simply pursue Gasol with cap-space out right or pass on him. I wouldn't even try to dump Boozer besides amnesty with anybody unless I got an agreement with Melo pre arranged. Then I'd probably wouldn't be interested in Gasol I'd pursue a cheaper defensive 4/5. Not that I don't value Gasol but I think Melo on the Bulls sorta limits his value to the Bulls, and being real how much cash I think Chicago's ownership is willing to deal out.

I was just asking what would be LA's opening offer. I'm not saying Mirotic is a ridiculous asking price I simply view him as the Bulls most valuable long term asset right now.(Between Nikola, J.Butler, Snell, McDermott, our future picks, etc.) and I don't think thats worth swapping for a older Pau Gasol that could very possible be signed out right. I think we have enough other assets to make a Gasol s&t that doesn't include Mirotic. I envision Gasol as more of a 5 in Thibs system and could easily play alongside Mirotic.

Also, part of the appeal of getting Pau would be for him to mentor Nikola for a season or two. With J. Randle in the fold I don't really see the fit of Mirotic in LA as you said hes more of a 4 which Randle clearly is as well.

I thought your idea of getting Pau was to play him with Noah and use Gibson as the 3rd big.

We could always run a 3 big rotation like we did with Bynum/Odom/Pau in 09. Granted neither Randle nor Mirotic can play the 5, if one works out better than the other we can always move the odd one out for a different asset later.

sources on hoopshype from some writers are saying that Pau was offered the starting job in Chicago.

Guys ceiling is probably Wally's world, but Wally was an all star and long time starter before he hurt his back, he would start at SF here easy next to Randle for years to come

It would be a nasty three man front court to roll with Pau off the bench. But I think at some point the Bulls will have to choose between Nikola and Taj, especially if we acquire Melo, with our ownership group. And Pau could be really valuable transition piece for 2-3 seasons playing alongside Mirotic in that time frame. I think Pau Jo and Miortic would be a very balanced front-court assuming we ship out Taj and Booz for Melo or something like that.

BTW I know this won't go over well but I must admit I like the Lakers too, and I would want to make a fair deal and not put the Bulls on the receiving end of one of the Lakers classics one sided trades. I was only a toddler when MJ and Magic faced off in 91', and never really viewed Lakers/Bulls as direct rivals. And Kobe always reminded me so much of Jordan, and I always recognized the Lakers greatness since the Kobe/Shaq years. and the Lakers have always been successful during periods of the Bulls not being so successful So I sorta took the Lakers as my surrogate Western Conference team. I also hate Boston with a passion. The 08' FInals was just as if not more painful for me as the 11' ECF. I was so happy for Laker-land when Boston took Smart last week my buddy is a huge Celtic/Bird homer and he was dying for Randle.

I may have to ask for Rose but you have to pay for his salary.

I'm not particularly high on McDermott but when you factor in what CHI did to get him I doubt he'd realistically be available in a Gasol s&t but I personally would rather move Doug then Nikola as I think Nikola has more of a natural position to play and higher upside.

McDermott makes no sense in Chicago if Melo signs which is looking less and less likely everyday meaning Doug is probably part of the Bulls 'core' going forward.

Is it realistic to absorb Lin contract for first round pick, sign Melo max, and resign Pau, atleast at MLE ?

If LeBron gets cold feet after bosh leaves and wants to come to us.... I would love if he ran point

If San Antonio is serious about pau... I would try for splitter and green. Green to guard pgs.... and can hit the 3...

Green, kobe, lebron, randle, splittee

Ewww please no. Splitter makes 25 million over the next 3 years. If you don't think Gasol is worth his asking price Splitter is definitely not worth it.
