Sure sedale, I get what your sayin. But even Davis wasn't in Davis' league his first year and early in. Davis today is a developed or should I say DEVELOPING star who is growing and whos game is rising day by day. This what Im sayin about Towns. I think his appetitie and aptitude for growth is off the charts. And his skill level is only going to grow into a more all around versatile player with a versatile game. Okafor is who he is, and I don't see his game versatility growing, to the same level as a Towns.

I don't understand the reasoning that Towns has room for growth, but Okafor doesn't. I see Okafor being able to develop a midrange game while also improving in the defensive end. The kid is 19 and to think his game is now what is always will be is odd to me. He must have a healthy thirst for getting better considering how much he has worked to get his post game so advanced at such a young age. That doesn't come from anything but hard work. We have seen more athletic bigs in the NBA with the best coaches not be physically able to develop the post game Okafor has. There is plenty of room for growth with Okafor and I think he improves his game across the board.

Read the scouting report on Davis and its obvious from day one that he was going to be a super star. He was already a complete player and he didn't have a lot of holes in his game. Towns still needs to do a lot of work to reach we're he's projected to be. He's 2-3 years away from being a productive player. One guy was getting compared to KG while the other guy is getting compared to Andrew Bogut. I think Towns ends up developing into a Al Horford type of player. I don't know why Lakers fans are stressing over Okafor or Towns both of these guys are going to have a productive careers barring injuries. We'd be fine taking either of them.

First & foremost, Okafor will be a solid pro but to not consider Russell in today's game is a bad move... The game has changed... Everyone keeps stating guards are a "dime a dozen"... If that is the case, why are we starting Bleu & Brown to end the season... Russell will be special... We need to take the "Best Player Available" not simply a "big"... Russell & Clarkson could morph into a top 5 backcourt in a guard based league for the next 10 years...

If whole league good at the guard position, why would we follow the same direction ?

we need to be a good that distinctive, like 2 good inside players.

In order to compete effectively, you need to be better than or different from. That's not just true of basketball but in general. That's one of the main appeals of drafting an Okafor. There are so few big men in today's game with that good a post game. It's evident that he's worked diligently on it, and he's only 19. If that's not work ethic with room to improve, I don't know what is. It's not just the fact that he's great at post offense, either. It's also what that post-up action can lead to. At a young age, he's already adept that handling double teams and passing out of it. With proper coaching, you can use him as your offensive hub to establish an inside-outside attack. That doesn't necessarily mean that you abandon the tenets of a motion offense that's successful in today's game. Both he and Randle are willing passers. You build a team around passing and shooting with Okafor in the middle drawing double teams and ideally one more player who needs to be double teamed on the perimeter and you can have a modern offense while playing to Okafor's strengths. It's all about coaching. If Steve Clifford can coach the Hornets with Al Jefferson in the middle to top ten in defensive efficiency, I wouldn't be too worried about Okafor.

Nice futuristic prediction. No different than mine. Except of course, that its yours.

Maybe the Lakers saying they want towns may be a ploy to get Minnesota to pick Towns so they can pick up Okafor or Russel? What is unique about Towns? He doesn't have Dwight athleticism, and he's not long like Bynum, who was a true center. Towns may struggle in this league.

What about drafting Russel, and if Okafor goes to the 3rd pick, trade Randle for Okafor. Not throwing Randle under the bus but I haven't seen a 6'5 PG with the court vision and confidence that Russel has for quite some time. Would like both Okafor and Russel.

I've seen Aron Baynes make multiple 3-pointers during warmups, so take this with a grain of salt. But it looks like Towns might already have NBA 3-point range...

Defensive anchor who can also stretch the floor? Yes, please.

WCS' jumper is awkward as hell but KAT's handles are silk!

Looks like WCS has 3 point range as well. Can't wait for the Okafor shooting 3s clips

Pretty sure Okafor could wow them in practices as well. His advanced post moves would look mighty good if or when he leaks his own video.

Yes. Its pretty easy to do all this against air. That's just eye-opening to see that stroke and that range on a guy who could be an All-NBA defender. That's a nice combo for me. I'd probably prefer that over a dominant low-post guy who might lag in other areas. But it's all a jerk-off at this point. Remember Darko...

I watched Jabari Parker and Dante Exum glide all over the floor and drain jumpers while dropping on a dime with that size last summer and they did none of that in actual NBA games against real NBA athletes.

The difference is Okafor used to put the ball on the floor all the time in NCAA, sometimes making catches 20 ft away from the rim only to maneuver all the way to a lay up in silky smooth way. KAT is showing vine clips but he's barely ever put the ball on the floor in game situations. He could probably do it in the NBA but I can't believe anything until I see actual NBA athletes out there defending them.
