Haven't posted in here for a while. How's it going, fellas?

Started going to the gym again about a week ago. Damn it feels good. The last time I actually went for a consistent period was Grade 11 - 2ish years ago. It took two weeks to get back to where I left off. Not bad considering I haven't really done anything for a year.

Got cleared by my Doc to play sports again, too on July 1st (due to that nasty nasal surgery I went through last August). 5 straight days felt so good. Can't wait to play again. Damn, I love basketball.

Looking forward to university starting up in September, too. Definitely going to play some intramural soccer and basketball. :D

Wow, ST.

It never makes sense. My wife lived in Boston when we met. You're a brilliantly bright individual with a good sense of humor — just be yourself.

Short on time here, but they always decide what will be anyway, and in this situation, it's on her to make a move in either direction — not on you. All you can do is to go with the flow.

I'd go by intuition and, in the meantime, I'd try to carefully inform myself of her situation before I take any love leaps (easier said than done). Speaking the truth is never wrong, but at the same time, don't force anything. Let the mountain come to Mohammed. Still waters and having a good laugh would be my MO.

if it comes up, I'd also hold back on talking bad about her current guy's behavior, besides agreeing or disagreeing about whatever she tells you about him. Let her find out for herself how much he sucks, if he does. Ask her questions, don't tell her how it is.

Thanks, man, I appreciate that. I've already figured out a lot of what you've said, but damn if it isn't hard to put into practice. A time like this (among many, many others) is when I really admire Phil Jackson. That ability to sit back and take situations as they come without gripping out is truly priceless.

You hit on the key -- this is a situation where I don't really have much control over. Which is at once the best and worst part about it. Frankly, with the economy the way it is, I'm not sure how much control she has either. I think if she had her choice, she'd eventually move back to Austin; her sister lives there, and she was there for two or three years and loved it. But the days of picking and choosing, even with her education, are on temporary hold.

Totally agree about the boyfriend, too; other than some gentle teasing, I haven't asked her one thing about him. Frankly, I'm not really worried about him; I think she's just looking for a way to end it at this point. It's the next guy, as this is the kind of gal who isn't going to want for attention.

But you're right -- pointless to worry or look that far ahead. Just enjoy the fact that I'm going to have her hanging out at my pad for the next few days.

On a different note, I am scheduled to have microfracture surgery on Friday. I tore my knee up about three months ago doing yoga, of all things. Is that a sign of aging or what? At least I ruptured my ACL playing hoops. But yoga? Never saw that one coming.

I figured it never hurts to see what sticks. Here's the best advice I have:

Make her laugh, and keep a still waters kind of mindset. No woman can resist that combo.

Sorry about the ACL. I tore my MCL a few years back, playing soccer for half an hour. Had to go to physical therapy for a few months. It sucked.

Wait, you never had a cell before?

I make my own ring tones by editting the mp3s.

The ACL is actually tip top; did that about 10 years ago. This newest one is a small tear in the cartilage covering the top of my tibia. I don't think there's much rehab involved, but I'll have to be on crutches for about six weeks to facilliate the blood clot caused by the microfracture. Not fun. At least me and Kenyon Martin now have something in common.

I dig the "still waters" approach, too. Sounds like some of the Buddhist stuff I've been reading about lately.

Back in Edmonton for about a week doing some renovations.

Pretty sweet, saw Our Lady Peace this past Thursday - seeing Paramore & No Doubt this Thursday and might see Our Lady Peace again next Thursday. Looking forward to this little while.

Yeah..either edit them yourself and just transfer them to your phone, or go to FunForMobile.com. Free.

I'm just not sold on smart phone prices right now. Data plans seem like a bunch of bull to me. Over 2 years an iPhone will cost you on avg: $3,600

To me that isn't worth it
