It was an elbow shot, to the back of the head, wound up (MAKING IT INTENTIONAL; it was impulsive, but it was STILL INTENTIONAL, even if he didn't think about it) -- incredibly vicious. And Harden didn't see it coming.
He's definitely concussed -- he had light sensitivity and headaches and didn't come back out of the locker room after initially being cleared. They wouldn't sit him if he were 'ok'. Concussions can seriously hurt you long term, so this is a serious injury.
Summary: ron artest intentionally blindside hit a player with his elbow, and they are injured and potentially out for the rest of the season (see: Gerald Wallace, Blake Griffin in college, Najera; CONCUSSIONS ARE NO JOKE)
Artest should be banned for the rest of the season + 20 games next year if they really want to send a message that elbow shots to the head ARE NOT OK.

I couldn't possibly agree with you more.

I wouldn't call it fake sympathy as much as trying to take a global view. Like I said, if Harden had done that to Kobe, we'd all be going ape isht...

I love you Snaq, but that's such a horrendous analogy I don't even know where I start...

you don't get on anybody's grill like that during a celebration and expect not get hit. yeah yeah it was brutal and MWP should get five games suspension, but come on! take the tampon out and man up.

Well when the game is physical, and someone makes a huge play. You're not going to body them up right after they make the basket. If you give contact, you should expect contact (not an elbow to the head, though).
People talk about Ron's history based on how long he's going to get suspended, but based on Ron's history why are you going to body him up after he makes a huge emotional play?

Have we come to the consensus that Metta deserves the suspension?
