YES! But what are you interested in reading? I enjoy philosophical books, historical books (biographies are awesome) and of course the usual literature that's read by people majoring in that type of literature (Latin American, English, etc.)

Anything by James Ellroy or James Lee Burke are page turners and fall into the 'Modern Classic' category IMO... Unless your looking for something more cerebral.

Dude i remember reading Ender's Game, didn't know anyone else knew about that book. I was the only kid who read that one, most people had read some book called The Once And Future King and The Kite Runner which I had already read by then. 1984 is awesome! Must read.

Also, read Animal Farm. I really liked that book A LOT, very brilliant. I think we read that in 10th grade, not sure anymore but still crazy how the Animals represented Eastern European gov't just brilliant. Trumps Charlotte's Web anyday

Read them all minus stranger in a strange land - I'll mos def check that out (a brief synopsis would be greatly appreciated though)

1984 is my favorite novel ever, I think I've mentioned that previously.

Not necessarily looking for something cerebral, just whatever you guys would recommend and have enjoyed. Not really snooty like that. I think I've read some James Ellroy (was Black Dahlia by him?). Definitely check out more by him and James Lee Burke.

Thanks for the input, guys!

I was also hoping Uborat would chime in since he also seems knowledgeable in regards to literature. I think he has disappeared though.

Yea he's real good, go a few pages back and he made some suggestions for fantasy reads.

Not a fan of fantasy unfortunately, although I'm gonna go back see what he suggested and give it a shot.

I mean I've read Narnia when I was young and Lord of the Rings/Hobbit(second fav book possibly) but that is the extent of my forays into that genre. Ppl are also recommending the game of thrones books to me, anyone read em?

Limiting your mind is easily the biggest tragedy in human history, hermes don't set us all back thousands of years, you're our hope for any kind of good in tomorrow

TyCobb wrote:Do you talk this much in person, miggs?

That's tough to answer, I'll say I don't have a problem talking to people and usually meet new people everywhere, even at a gas station or something. However, since I've been getting high I'd say it's curbed my old ways of non stop talking in person. Thing is i'm semi ADHD or so they thought when I was a kid, oddly my cousin (my mom's sister's kid) was diagnosed with a mild case of ADHD and he was EXACTLY like me. So my mind's always juggling multiple trains of thoughts, combine that with someone who's naturally hyper and you have the perfect recipe for a non-stop talker, however, add in a variable 8-) and the results change drastically.

Oh, for sure.

As for talking so much here,

1) I believe anything that comes to my mind is worthy of being posted on here, don't we all just post what's on our minds? Maybe I just do it constantly

Ah, for sure.

2) I'm bored at work, stuck here 10am - 6pm Monday through Friday and Saturdays 10am - 2pm so what else am I gonna do besides be on here all day? Fb is boring man, I can only play so much guitar at work before my fingers hurt, and I can't keep stuffing doughnuts all day and hope to live through another day of Stephano's work out now can I?

Eh, for sure.

3) You guys are actually fun to talk to, I say that because most forums I've been on are meh. For the record I thought this place was meh, until I joined the comm thread, haven't looked back since.

Uh, for sure.

4) I enjoy ranting here, it's fun to see the reactions, I don't care to be mocked, laughed at or even ridiculed, doesn't stop the fact that I'm still having fun posting away

Yeah, **** yeah!

5) I'm not cool like you TyCobb, so I just ramble away living the life of a common poster

Give it time.

TyCobb, you don't play basketball anymore right? Have you lost your skills? I stopped playing basketball and feel I should play again. However, the last two times I went to ball I have really sucked. I believe it's my lack of fitness combined with my overall lack of consistent play. When you don't play basketball for long stretches of time do you feel it's more important to be in shape or to work on your game?

No, I do play basketball--every Monday night. I have not lost any skills, in fact I've probably even got better since the last time I played with LaLa. It's always more important to be in shape, because at least you can offer hustle points/boards/defense.

I noticed some guys at the park didn't really have game per se but were an excellent shape so they could play at a high level for longer periods in comparison to other more skilled ballers at the park. What are your suggestions for me to return to form?

Jump rope, sprints, ladders, squats, and running.

What is your game like? Do you model your game after a player or just kind of hack away and hope for the best? Fitness is important and I need to get back in shape. Basketball would be a great addition. Thanks for the talk TyCobb, I think I found my answers. Time to return to the court 8-)

I honestly couldn't tell you what my game is like. I don't model my game after any player, but I don't hack away and hope for the best either.

Good luck.

P.S. To answer your question truthfully, no I don't talk much at all actually.

I'd run out of excedrin if I kicked it with you.
