One night they look like they've found a formula, then the next night it looks as if they've taken 5 steps back. The Hawks have a litany of issues plaguing them and it's stunted their growth. The Hawks aren't a contender and they could miss the playoffs altogether even in a weak east. In essence I wasn't wrong on them....they're a treadmill team trying to find themselves no matter how you look at it. And it's good the Raptors caught them twice, caught the Magic twice....4 win or roughly 25% of their 13 wins against those weak teams. And they caught the Cavs during their week of disarray....yet it seems like that can't be understood. I'm not saying a team isn't suppose to take advantage of those things, but when the tables turn and those teams get better and figure things out the Raptors aren't good enough to beat a team like Cleveland when it's clicking or get their business straight. That's fact....not discrediting.
Overall the Raptors have blown a few team out, but they haven't look ultra dominate in even the games they've barely won. I'm not saying the things I am about them without having seen them play.
So do we look at the Memphis Grizzlies schedule as inflated as well?
They played the same OKC team, they've already had Charlotte, Milwaukee, Boston, Lakers twice, Detroit and a Clippers team still finding itself. Also, up until the past week, had a very home favoured schedule too.
What about GSW? They had the Lakers twice, Brooklyn, Charlotte, Utah, Same OKC team, Charlotte again, Orlando, and Brooklyn and Detroit. Are they inflated as well? That's 10 of their 15 games against teams that they should beat no?
Nobody here that I saw and certainly not me is saying the Raps are elite, contenders or title favourites. But they are 13-3 and a damn good team, regardless of schedule and conference and going back over the past year (calendar year) are playing at a 70% winning clip roughly, nothing to discount as only being a result of their opponents and not a result of what they are doing.
