It depends on the cost but if you could dump Deng and Clarkson and send them Ingram and no other future firsts then I believe you gotta do it. LeBron fits so perfect on this roster even if it is for one year. The next year we would have him as the lead negotiator to bring two other stars to LA--all three working out the financials.
Ball will make it easier for LeBron to get buckets and will extend his career.
Are you seriously going to trade Ingram, a young buck with a 7'4 wingspan and zero ceiling for a guy that would be 35 after we sign him and starts the season? All for the chance at not beating Golden State? Why?
Ball/Ingram will be special. Stick to the original plan, add PG who is still young and then we can be relevant for quite some time, rather than just a 2 year window if LBJ decides to come here. I don't think we learned our lesson regarding Steve Nash. Remember how good he looked before he got here? Lakers are not a retirement home. We learned our lesson. We need to get young energetic all stars to this team, not guys past their prime.
