Magic steps down new coach.

If it is Ty Lue then I don't think this could happen.
But it is another maybe.

Trade Lebron to NO for AD. Magic brought in Lebron but with Magic gone Lebron could be traded.

Sign Leonard.

See how much Cap is left and get the best available players.

Kawahi and AD is a longer future for the Lakers

Im utterly pessimistic on the LAL FA prospects. With all the chaos that occurred this season im 100% sure that the top flight FAs like Kawhi and KD are not coming. Also find the next tier down of FAs would rather stay with their old teams that have better chances of winning than join LAL in Klay, Kyrie, and Butler. Under no circumstances should the team max out the likes of Vucevic, Harris, Kemba, and Middleton.

Things are so dire i think the team will trade for a disgruntled max star or roll the dice on Boogie. I can see a deal like the Lakers absorbing Blake Griffin's contract for essentially free (like a SRP basically), letting DET just blow it up and save tons of money too. The team will just roll out with the LBJ + Blake star duo tandem while the Lakers youth are kept on (cuz their trade value is so low and NOP just refusing to trade AD to us).

C - ???, Wagner
PF- Blake, Kuzma
SF- Lebron
SG- Ingram, Hart
PG- Lonzo, Bonga

#14 pick and Room Exceptions to patch up holes at startin C, backup 1/3. Blake can play smallball C, thus giving Kuzma starter level mins, as well as load management for Blake (say 70 games).

I can totally see the this FO chasing the shiniest available name possible as their big "splash" move.

What about Klay saying he needs to dip in the pacific ocean to get his groove back?

But it is too cold in Nor Cal to jump in.

Does that mean he is using the Lakers to get a big pay day?

Or is he hinting something to both teams?

Oh God please no esp to Boogie Cousins. It can be worse like trading for John Wall, signing Carmelo etc.

if we fail to get another max player, do we have enough cap to have Green, Millsap/Mirotic, and Vucevic on the team?
we really need more reb protection and stable shooting & scoring

If we fail to recruit another max player I say we should punt another year and wait for AD.
Not the ideal situation and the downside would be LeBron getting angry leading to no AD at all.
But if no other star means it would be Lebron’s partly Fault too, can’t imagine him being too mad about it lol.
No panic signing please.

Well, in reality if the FO desperate they would sign one or two mediocre FA but the contracts should be on time with LBJ’s contract expiring time IMO.

Getting Kawhi would be very lucky.

I like the optimism. Kawhi has been so quiet about where he is going. I don't think anyone knows, all the sources of these rumours are no name twitter guys. But I tend to believe Lakers have a chance.

LeBron might make a good case as being the Wade to Leonard in this partnership.

If the “named” twitter guys broke where they were signing this early they wouldn’t be able to clickbait everybody in June and July.

The lakers are signing a big name free agent.

Literally everything the team has done from the day pelinka and magic took over has been for these two offseasons.

I’m shocked that a majority of the conversations on the Lakers new coach search arent about which FAs they could be tied to.

I think everything is tracking to Kawhi and always has, but even if we end up signing jimmy butler or kemba walker... our team will be lebron + our young core another year older + Butler or kemba + a new coach + maybe plus a lottery pick + plus FAs coming to compete.

Im really not sure how you couldnt be optimistic.

Stop buying into this over stated national narrative of laker chaos and dysfunction. They are all good.

Yes, I agree about the overstatement of chaos but it's not like they are completely sure that the team will get much better esp with Jimmy Butler. I'm not sure Jimmy will be a great fit with Lebron and the youngsters who have trouble shooting from the perimeter.
There's also a question mark about the coach, if he can truly find the best system to make the pieces fit. The Lonzo, BI, Lebron combo presents a challenge in terms of spacing the floor esp if they get Butler instead of a Kyrie or Klay.

Patrick Beverley - PG

Terence Ross - SG
Tomas Santorasky - SG

Bojam Bogdanovich - SF
Trevor Ariza - SF

Nikola Mirotic - PF

Ed Davis - C
Nikola Vucevic - C

DeMarcus Cousins - C

Thomas Bryant - C

some from this list, a combination of shooting and defense, along with a major FA - use the second FA max money to assemble a quality supporting cast

any bets PG is rethinking his love for OKC?

Stylistically, it's probably less Wade to Lebron and more Pippen to MJ
