I disagree - ENTIRELY.

No they aren't.... But the first step in achieving real relevance has to involve a cultural shift... Yes, we seem to need an ownership change too, but assuming the idea is to give Hurley a lot of personnel authority, maybe that's the first step in getting the ownership to take a step back?

Also, with the way the league is constructed, with a bit of a talent gap between the best players and the rank and file, it would seem embracing player development would be the best way to find a transcendent star to build a future contender around....

So I'm team Hurly too...

But I'm still betting it's going to be JJ...

That said, if getting Hurly, is really about nurturing Brony and by extension, placating papa-lebron... I might have to burn the rest of my Lakers gear...

LeBron is brokering he and his kid.... either here or somewhere else. We've done that side show before with Ball and Ball was 3x the player.

The odds we get a healthy Davis and Bron for as much time as we did this year is nill.

Player development... by that do you mean trading someone of value to get rid of Russell or trying to fix him? He ain't fixable.

I think coaches can mean something when the team is close. I'm not seeing the team as close.

College coaches coming into the one and done NBA find things considerably different. We'll see.

Seeing a lot of you so down on our chances, rather willing the team with two All NBA players to go into a rebuild is a bit baffling to say the least. It's either the inability to accept Lebron as a part of the franchise, due to the Kobe rivalry - not rare at all. Or Jeanie just got y'all so used to those 18 win seasons, that the anxiety of actually competing is too taxing on the mind. Either way, I'm never gonna resonate with that loser mentality. Cheers!

Was going to say a lot more to this but have no Interest In wasting time, lmao. Lucky I'm even saying this and this Is all I'm gonna say.

That top 5 in your signature makes your basketball opinion entirely worthless anyway, so I agree, you should save it to yourself.

I've heard eight years of $ 100 million; If it's true, he's got to leave UCONN.

Yeah, for sure.

Seems like alot for a coach with zero NBA experience. Like a little too much.......could it be desperation? I kinda think this is an interesting hire. Like the concept. So I'm not against it at all. But the numbers?.......just kinda reeks of desperately trying to make this more than it is? Hard to put the finger on exactly what, but the spidey-senses are tingling a bit.

Yeah it does, but at least it's showing the Lakers are doing their due diligence imo.

Yeah, the offer is weird... Pure low-ball, so was it because we really are a budget franchise now, or are we just stupid?

Either way, it's time to start cutting salaries at the top...

It's time for us to go after a coach who can also take Pelinka's job, sign them long term and pay them accordingly... I bet they'd still be ahead...
