LAKERS WILL BE 3RD SEED.

Basketball gods sometimes have this weird sense of humor, Lakers get 7th, then beat the Rockets.
GSW OR Clippers upset OKC,
Then Lakere beat GSW in the WCF AND meet the the freaking Celtics in the Finals. :D

I'm just happy the basketball gods and NBA has always looked upon the beloved Lakers with favoring eyes.

Our time is coming. We'll be there.
A statement most other teams out there can never utter.

A gsw and mcnuggetz losses tonite will pretty much seal up 3seed for lakers.

----

mcnuggetz and gsw lost tonite.

Both at 32 losses now; we are at 30 losses with four games remaining.

We can lose two and still retain 3 seed

Let's have a winning mindset and sweep this remaining games

This is dizzying, if even that is a word. We lose, they lose, we drop seed, then raise next level. This is all about Match-ups. I have full confidence vs Houston. But Houston seems to me be a Match-up night mare for the Warriors. These final seedings are gonna be interesting

I would love to see something end up like this

1 okc
2 Houston
3 Lakers
4 minn (good chance, remaining games v Memphis, @bucks, nets, jazz)
5 clip (remaining games v kings, spurs, @warriors, rockets)
6 Memphis (hornets, wolves, mcnugs, mavs)
7 mcnuggetz (kings, grizzlies, rockets)
8 gsw (suns, spurs, clippers, blazers)

Lakers can't let go of the pedal. We got to be careful still.

Any slip of the mind, they can lose next game to okc, lose to Houston, and even lose to an emotional Dallas team.

We can definitely be outside looking in, in no time.

These are the remaining games where there will be an automatic additional loss added to help seeding below us (or not help us):

Rockets v clips apr9
Minnesota v grizzlies apr10
Grizzlies v mcnuggetz apr11
Clippers v gsw apr13
mcnuggetz v rockets apr13

This means that even if we lose three, we cannot go lower than 6th seed. Only way to get into play-in now is by losing all four remaining games.

I think we’ll beat OKC again tomorrow. It’ll be a tough game. Gotta play perfectly disciplined defense.

If we just play hard to win every game, I’ll be thrilled. And I’d be happy to deal with any opponent coming our way in the first. I don’t believe in playing the score or the standings.

But I do worry about facing the Blippers. They’re well equipped to take us out. Hoping Denver takes them out and that GSW takes out Dallas so we don’t have to face either of them.

LAL - GSW to the WCF!
Since the 1976 merger LAL 11, CHI 6, BOS 6, SAS 5, GSW 4

PG: Luka / Vincent / Bronny
SG: Smart / Reaves / Knecht / Mañon
SF: LaRavia / Rui / Thiero
PF: Bron / Vando / Kleber
C: Ayton / Hayes / Koloko

yeah i want the seeding to go like this

4 gsw
5 denver

or better yet:

7 gsw
8 denver
THIS WOULD BE AMAZIN TO SEE ^

I actually want to face the clippers it would be historical LA battle for the first time.

Hoping is not the same as playing the score. :D

LA battle would be epic but I’m not so sure we win that series.

It's a horrible bet on the "risk-reward" scale. If the Lakers win....so what? Of course we did. We've got 17 titles to their 0. It would be a bit of a "no sh** Sherlock" situation, with almost no notice. But if the clippers won?? Oh boy...would we ever hear the end of it?

I take solace that Kawhi would inevitably hurt himself before the 4th quarter of game 1.

ok big relevant games tonite:

memphis at charlotte
timberwolves at bucks
warriors at suns
spurs at clippers
lakers at okc

--

heres the thing, I get we just need two more wins to seal the 3seed. Lot of talk on media and on here about strategizing playing for a win on dallas game, and sitting everyone out for this okc game, vice versa, and what not...

I say, for these final four games you need to go win for the morale and sake of the team. For leading a charge into the playoffs.
Rest? there will be rest when play-in starts. There will be rest in between each playoffs set (as much as a week sometimes)
and there is no back to back games in playoffs. So i dont see the need for trying to rest up in these four crucial games.

Go for 50+ wins and head into the playoffs with a full throttle and make other teams fear us continuously. (mental fear and image is a big thing in this. We lose two out of four here may lessen the fear others may have of us. Let not get it that way).

Now that they got that ugly mug of a face in malone out of the mcnugz and the NBA picture for awhile (annoying and face-punchable caricature of a coach) I think we can leave alone denver for now.

im expecting that team to go down to play-in 8th.

All we got to focus in on is gsw.
Go get our wins and hopefully gsw falls into 5,7, or 8.

Another great day in the NBA.
There is hope in this world.

Just tonite I want all these teams win tonite

memphis at charlotte
timberwolves at bucks
warriors at suns
spurs at clippers

Just to see where the mcnugs fall when they all match their record tonite. lol. Play-in, right?

Can we win at least one of the next three? (Dallas Houston Portland)

We can easily lose to all three of these teams. I can imagine it.

These are not a walk in the park.

Dallas AD and their organization will do their best to destroy us
Houson may not lose to us again. They are 2 seed by the way.
Portland theyll do their best to wreck our seeding aspirations. We are their perennial nemesis. Remember we eliminated them from playoffs an uncountable number of times throughout the 90s and early 2000s?

I think it’s a miracle the Lakers are so deep in the mix this season after a trade like that, and it’s unrealistic to expect a chip this season…. So seeding seems less important to me…. Just along for the ride…
The real season begins in free agency this summer and how this org begins to realign itself around Luka…. The firing of Mike Malone ads intrigue…. The playoffs are just a fun ride and bonus…

I dont see it this way. We have to shoot for the championship as our bar this year, there's no guarantee on Rob building a great roster into the future, just remember Luka fell into our laps.

Without Luka, we still would be a treadmill team looking to see how to build around a stale AD

But we’ve clearly overachieved this season…. We hid big flaws in the roster. It just doesn’t feel like our year for a lot of reasons…. And theres nothing wrong with that given the changes. Not winning it all wouldn’t be a failure is all I’m saying…. Which allows me to enjoy the ride more

Let's really get up to go full throttle once more in Friday's game, beat Houston, and then rest all the key playoffs players in the Portland game on Sunday April 13th.

Let's get a full week of rest for everyone prior to Apr 19th.

(April 15-18 Play-in games
April 19th PLAYOFFS FIRST ROUND GAME 1)

No more back-to-backs of course, during playoffs.

----

Hopefully gsw loses one more game, or if not, the other three teams ahead of them maintains their spot on seeding. Not sure what happens if gsw ties with the above teams in seeding, if they fall into 6th? Hope not.

Not sure if this is possible tiebreaker-rules-wise, but:

3 Lakers
4 Clippers
5 mcnugz
6 Memphis
7 Minn
8 gsw wah wah

GSW will have a relatively easier schedule and holds the tie breaker over Memphis, I think .
Memphis also has a harder schedule having to face Minnesota and Denver.
Not a few fans are starting to believe that Lakers can easily handle the Nuggets but I still see Murray in my nightmares.
Clippers are dangerous IF THEY ARE HEALTHY.
And no one should write off Steph and Butler.

Right, every single team is dangerous. ( we cant discount memphis either, who knows what the basketball gods will do)

If you really look at it, all seven teams from 2 to 8 seed are actually just equal peers. This is not an actual seeding in the traditional sense. It was one bad ref call here or there, a one wrong bounce off the rim here or there, and alas, this is the seeding.
One can easily put Minnesota at the 4 seed and denver at 8, or vice versa. Doesnt matter here this year.

It's basically in my mind: 1seed OKC/ 2seed Lakers/ 3seeds (the rest: houston, gsw, mcnugz, et al)
(yeah, i dont see houston in the same tier as us or okc)
