SF:Artest/Walton/Morrison
PF:Gasol/Odom/Powell
C:Bynum/Ilgauskas/Mbenga
SG:Bryant/Brown/Vujacic
PG:Fisher/Farmar

11 man rotations of Fisher, Bryant, Artest, Gasol, Bynum, Farmar, Brown, Walton, Odom, Powell, and Ilgauskas would cause problems foe anyone

Well, this is an interesting spin to the story.

Seems like Z won't be going back to the Cavs after all. Better get on the phones fast, Mitch!

i think the cavaliers are in big trouble if they dont get Z back. sometimes, its not about added talent or depth, but about chemistry and cohesion. a guy who has been playing that long with lebron, knows all of the ins and outs of brons game and that team. and with an infusion of new talent, those are like taking untested guns into a gun battle.

if we trade away bynum, we need an upgrade in center. or a center back period.

in this case, we would receive a guard. and nothing coming out of the draft. except more guards.

Good find sli............

Funny how the NBA acts like this is the first time this has happened.

The Los Angeles Times reported the NBA has told teams the center won't be allowed to return to the Cavaliers, based on evidence there was a prearranged deal.

deron williams for bynum

Post#68 » by TruSkool » Mon Feb 22, 2010 4:47 pm

would you do it?

the nba has a concept saying "never trade a big for a small"....but deron williams is probably the only point guard i would do this without a doubt..

What makes you think Mitch wil do that because we know it is a wste of time because Phil won't play him.

Bynum is one of my favorite players and even I have thought about it. I have also thought about some type of Kobe for Deron deal even though it would never happen. But Bynum for Deron would seem like the most likely trade if it ever went down.

I don't see what the NBA can do, barring the discovery of some sort of signed contract, like the Joe Smith situation in Minnesota. They've got a loophole in their CBA, and they won't be able to close it until it expires.

The hybrid of this was on the trade board since the rumor of Ellis for Mayo Thabeet was floated:

Bynum to GSW
Mayo+Thabeet to LA
Ellis to Memphis

The anticipated "do not trade big for little" was tossed out along with the usual "Bynum good not great"... Where do y'all fall on this?

Basically, most of it depends on if you think
- Bynum is 'the answer' or not
- versus how good to great Mayo will be
- versus if Thabeet can become serviceable offensively with potentially great D/rebs

For me, I do the trade. All 3 are 22 y.o.

I like the concept of filling the PG slot with a potentially great player in Mayo, and potentially getting Ben Wallce ish productivity out of Thabeet in rebs and blocks. Of course, I am not in the Bynum koolaid camp so I don't see the 25/12 out of him some expect the post-Kobe future to be.

Money is the other reason I do it. Fill two slots for 17 million less the next two seasons.

Bynum 13.70 and 14.90
versus
Mayo+Thab 9.25 and 10.76

I have a feeling Cuban will regardless give an offer of the MLE for one year and sign Ilgauskas who can't be pleased with his being traded.

I don't think there is any way GS would do the trade that is in the original post if they are top 2 in the draft, but if they are 3 or lower I say we combine the 2 trades and laugh all the way to the bank.

Lakers get:
Mayo
Thabeet
2010 GSW 1st

Grizzlies get:
Ellis

Warriors get:
Bynum

Lakers Depth:
Mayo / FA
Bryant / Mayo / Brown
Artest / Bryant / Walton
Odom / Gasol
Gasol / Thabeet
* a little thin at PF/C, but the draft pick should help solve that problem.
