At least they wanted it. Anyways whats up with Kobe so far? How do you go from 3 straight 40+ games to shooting 15 %. If he has an off night he should just pass it to Bynum and Gasol.

Kobe pass? wtf

dockingsched and everyone else here - thanks for inviting me and my guys over to participate in your game thread. It was a good game (very ugly at times for each team).

No gloating from me - I saw a lot that I did and did not like from both teams. My Rox are very much a team at a nexus at this point. You guys seem like you're at the precipice of something special if you can integrate Sessions in a short amount of time.

Best of luck to you guys in the rest of the season (when we aren't playing you, of course)...oh, and someone slap Bynum upside the head. He's the knucklehead of the night. He's got to get his feelings in check if you guys want to succeed.

Rockets commentators kept praising Hou, they never talked about Bynum.. so maybe someone here can update me on why he was out

2nd tech of the night, ejected.. took his time getting off the court after that.

I just saw the replay of Drew getting ejected. KCAL didn't have it on the screen when it initially went down. That was a BS call if I've ever seen one. The ref was standing there and talking to Drew, then he randomly decides to turn around, walk away and T him up? Seriously WTF is that?

Hodges4Three wrote:I said this after the last game where Kobe was 3-20...he should NOT be shooting so much when his shot is not falling....and shouldn't be shooting that much PERIOD.

Tonight he's taken more shots than Gasol and Bynum combined....

Bynum + Gasol = 17-25 for 37 points
Kobe = 10-27 for 29 points

Gasol and Bynum should be getting MORE shots and Kobe should defer more. Why is he taking 27 shots when he has a dominant center and an all-star level forward on his team who are both playing well?

Kobe said he's never going to stop shooting and I believe him, at this point it's all ego.

Andrew was ejected and didn't play in t he 4th

Kobe came in at the 4:45 mark of the 4th after exiting in the third quarter. The offense stalled but it wasn't simply hand it to him while he dribbles.

Pau held it and gave it to him 27 feet out with 6 secs
Josh passed it to him off a cut and parsons hit it from gpbehind on the catch instantaneously
Kobe split a trap and took a fade off glass that he missed after bringing the ball up
Kobe got the ball on the baseline in a trap from MWP with 8secs
Kobe hit the next 2 shots but Sessions fed him with double digits on the clock
Kobe missed the tying 3
Kobe made the next 3

And another miss was a catch and throw to end the 2nd when Pau threw it down court and all he had time to do was bat it at the goal.

We got to change two things up. Kobe and Sessions have to play together for real. They can't be running two separate units and clocking 5mins or so together. Blake has to sit his ass down because he gave us more turnovers than points, but hey he met his average of 2ppg for march at least. Brown also needs to find a middle ground for Koebs minutes over extremes as he normally never sits Kobe in the 3rd and 4th in close games, but he also can't sit him out to the 4 min mark and say hey work your magic.

Progress is what we need and the first step is Sessions starting so he and Kobe can learn how to play together as opposed to Kobe being the playmaker with the starters and Sessions with the bench. We also need to work out our sub pattern so guys know you come in at this mark and go out and this one

----

As for 3-20" I already said he pisssed me off because he took no bad shots. He didn't break the offense. He didn't force it over doubles. He didn't stall clock. He just missed layups and mids while having lift. They were all in and out. And even then, meh curtailed himself in the second half as he only took 7 shots when he saw he didn't have it. He didn't force it, didn't take bad shots, didn't gun away in the second half, and even took the blame. He made it impossible to bitch at him which pissed me off

I think a Kobe/Sessions 1/2 PnR could be deadly. We had success running it with Fisher in the finals, I think these two pairing for it could be a lot more dangerous. Not sure if the coaching staff has the wherewithal to implement it but i'm hoping we see it sometime in the future.

And of course, since Kobe needs SO DESPERATELY to be involved in every single play, it satisfies that part of him while still allowing us to play team ball. Chances are he'd get a semi-open shot.
