What do you guys think about the Wiretap story of the owners offering a third round in the draft?

The top teams wouldn't pick in the first round anymore, but would instead get to pick at the start and end of the second....

Would help rebuilding teams get out of the cellar a faster, but that means veteran teams who are looking to add youth are going to be harder pressed.

Also-- 90 players in the draft? The way teams threw away their late second round picks on completely raw projects this year makes it seem like adding another 30 picks would be a joke.

Thoughts?

Drafting 90 players is useless unless they plan to increase roster size or not count players assigned to D-league as part of the NBA roster.

Top teams can still trade into the draft if they want to acquire youth but this would just promote more teams to tank to gain picks and use them as assets.

I would add to all those ideas a clause where the bottom seven teams would pick after the eight to fifteen pick first to avoid the tank-a-thon that those proposals will encourage.

Hardcap. What does that look like? Can someone point to a league or sport that has an operational hard cap. Just wondering how this will look in the NBA. Seems like this is becoming the BIGGEST issue during the lockout.

Would profit-sharing really be THAT bad? It would keep the Kings in Sac, the Hornets in N.O. and possibly could have helped the Sonics remain the Sonics.

What if Morrison elevates his game a to a point that he out "Fredettes, Fredette" We could possibly be looking at the 2nd coming of Kyle Korver! COME ON JUST THINK OF IT...

This has been your Official NBA Lockout Laugh of the Day

NHL.

I personally think the soft cap is the best balance between the hard cap and no cap. No cap is completely unfair and hard caps suck b/c championship teams get broken up because of it (eg like the Blackhawks).

I wonder if the NBA Owners really anticipated so many players going over seas...

Terrible. I was really hoping he'd come to LA.
