bulls really really really value gibson AND snell, snell ain't no two bit player that can be thrown into any deal, dude can ball and can shoot the ball

give both of them up? for mayo (semi-trash), speights (semi-trash) and a houston 2nd?

essentially snell could play the 2, but trade his rookie deal for mayo? and then the deal is gibson for the houston 2nd

that is down-right insulting

Yeah they would have to really value Mayo to go for that.. Doubtful. Although Gibson isn't as big for them now that they added Pau, I'd expect this to be the peak of Gibson's value.

speights and a houston 2nd?

really? gibson's peak value? for real? :banghead: :banghead: :banghead:

Oh I wasn't saying that package is Gibson's peak value.. I'm saying Gibson's value is probably at it's peak right now.. It will only go down with Pau in Chi.

Change the picks...
CHI get HOU 1st and MIL get HOU 2nd...
I suppose, with Mirotic and Gasol, that Chicago need a offensive starting five SG...
Noah/Speights
Gasol/Mirotic/McDermott
J.Butler/Dunleavy/McDermott
Mayo/Hinrich/Dunleavy
Rose/Brooks/Hinrich
I think is a good team... Bench is incredibly deep...

Eric Bledsoe is the floor general the Lakers need. Sign Beasley and then trade Jordan Hill ,Steve Nash and Wesley Johnson asap.

If the Pacers are willing to throw away this season due to PG's injury and they are trading Hibbert, will you guys be okay with that?

Nash, Hill, Houston's 1st (Maybe they don't need to give this up)
for
Hibbert and Copeland?

Pacers still get a C in Hill. And an expiring with Nash.

Lakers get a rim protector, but this ovbiously blows cap flexibity next offseason. But he expires on 2016.

I'm pretty sure Hill can't be traded till December, since he already officially signed. Nash, Sacre, Clarkson, 2015 Houston 1st, 2015 Lakers 2nd and 1.2 million cash works under the cap though. I know Hibbert is not that good but he only has 2 years left on his deal and he would provide rim protection, which is something the Lakers currently don't have much of. Jordan Hill is an above average shot blocker and that's all the Lakers have. Roster would look like this:

PF-Boozer/Randle/Kelly
SF-Johnson/Beasley?/Henry
C-Hibbert/Hill
PG-Lin/Beubois/Kane
SG-Kobe/Young

Kind of a log jam at PF/C and PG depth gets depleted a little bit, but the addition of Hibbert would give Byron Scott that defensive anchor inside. Defense wins chamlionships, so this helps.

I'd love to have prigioni as our backup or 3rd string pg. He's a gnat on defense just like sasha was except I'd rate him a better defender. He's quicker defensively against pgs than sasha was, but he'd still struggle against speedster pgs. Even though he's not a good scoring threat and he's out of his prime; he's still a great passer and can hit the open 3 (Though his form ugly).

Heard that Monroe had rejected Piston's offer, and he seems not interested in returning to the piston.
It is our best chance to try to take part in a S&T to acquire a valuable asset in Monroe, a serviceable and talented big man.
However, do we have enough asset to do so?

probabaly not, bare min I'd offer would be Nash/hou 1st and another future 1st but obviously thats not enough for Det. Would not give up Randle, need to pair him with Monroe.

Monroe is very likely to leave now that he's being pushed into playing out the QO.. I wonder if we could get Jordan Hill to waive his no trade to be dealt for Monroe.. Hill would be a good solid 3rd big for them, much better than losing Monroe for nothing. Monroe isn't the greatest fit for us, especially defensively, but he's a very good building block.

Uh please no more trading picks for uncertainty. I'd rather just make an offer for Monroe next off season. Awesome idea signing Nick Young when we could have used the space to offer a contract to both Monroe and Rondo. We might still be able to squeeze them both under the cap. then we'd finally have a team that a superstar would want to play with.

Even if Hill agreed, such a trade would still not be currently allowed. Gotta wait till Dec./Jan for it be be consummated, since the CBA doesn't allow newly signed/re-signed free agents to be immediately traded (unless they are signing a sign-and-trade contract, which Hill didn't).

And I would think that if Monroe is on the trading block after doing a QO, there will be other bidders, so no guarantee that a Hill package is the best deal the Pistons can find.

Also, Monroe hasn't signed the QO yet, and SVG said he's received no such word from Monroe, so it might yet be just a negotiating ploy by the agent.

and what certainty do you have the pick will be used to make a pick and that said pick will be better than Monroe?

Right.. There's still plenty of if's.. If Monroe plays out the QO & if he's still available in December when Hill can be traded, I hope it's something we look at. Would be nice to have the inside track on signing 1 of the big FA's next summer.. Lin/Kobe/Young/Randle/Monroe makes us much more appealing than we were when we tried to sell FA's on joining this summer.

Absolutely none. But we should have learned from the Steve Nash deal that you just don't trade picks recklessly. Especially when we don't have a lot to begin with. Monroe is an unrestricted free agent which gives us a lot of bargaining power. He's gone from the Pistons for sure. The point is that he should compliment what we are building not take away from it. If we focus on Monroe next offseason he's ours. Him and Rondo would be a perfect offseason but I think Rondo gets traded before the deadline.
