That's not what he's saying at all...

That said, he's not the shooter Ingram is and his floor is also much lower. Ingram is more of a sure thing.

??? still what you said and what that article says are polar opposites... you can post it a 1000 times and it won't reconcile what you said vs what the article says...lol

What you said

It's just saying how Chad thinks Chriss and Ingram has same upside but Ingram has a lower floor.

Weird how this talks about Dejounte Murray in the 8-17 range, and how good he is, but draftexpress has him in the second round. Same with Malachi Richardson. He has cancelled workouts and they believe he has promises in the 10-21 range, but projected as a second rounder on draftexpress. Isaiah Cousins isn't even projected to be drafted in the mock, but this is saying he is a first round talent.

Smoke screens, ill informed reporting, or a wide open draft?

I think us working out players like Skal, Jaylen, Jamal, Buddy and Henry are all in the event the Lakers trade down in the draft. I really think Ingram is the right pick at #2 but if a team like Phoenix who has 2 lotto picks (#4 and #13) offers their picks in exchange for the #2. If two players the LAL want are available at both #4 and #13, then what is the better option?

Draft Ingram and be patient or flip the pick for two possibly equally needing polish players like Jaylen and Skal? I don't think it's just due diligence as much as possibly the LAL feeling they want Simmons but if he's gone are truly torn between Ingram and flipping the pick for either 2 rooks like in a PHX deal or for an all-star

Man...At this point I don't know what the Lakers are going to do. They are working out more players than what they did last year...

Trading down is part of due diligence. However, to allow more perspective, we did solo workouts with DLo, Okafor and Mudiay which was all publicized to have included dinners with the staff the night before. Even went to the the Porzingis showcase. We even worked out Cameron Payne, btw.

This year is probably different because of the drop after 2 and the players that have been mentioned to go 3 is on a equal talent level and has been changing quite lot.

There's always a chance of trading down but I wouldn't read too much into it.

Had this weird feeling there's going to be a massive trade on draft night involving #2 and everybody but Russell... Multiple trades.
Like we were trying out players for other teams.
Was thinking maybe we were targeting Cousins and #8 with #8 also being moved. I've had this feeling for a while that Mitch has something up his sleeve... Starting to wonder if #2 isn't the centerpiece in it.

We worked out Russell, Okafor, Mudiay, Porzingis, and Payne last year (there were some rumors of a KAT workout as well but not 100% confirmed) ... pretty much the same amount of players they're working out this year.

At the end of the day we're most likely picking one of Simmons/Ingram.

you know, very likely unrelated but Clarkson said at the end of the season that he knew on Kobe's last game that he wanted to be here, as a Laker for his whole career and more recently seemed uninterested in hearing what he may be worth and so on but then in the interview he just did a few days ago, he seemed so bummed out with the FA process, lacking confidence that he'd be in a Lakers uni next season, definitely caught me off guard. It was on TWC Sports Net yesterday.

I remember I also found it odd that we ended talks on Cousins so smoothly and publicly, no other team came as close as we did in Cousins talks, our connection to Vlade is likely a huge factor here, we probably get first dibs on a deal like McHale with KG to BOS instead of LA

Rumours have been leaking from the lakers and I don't know if they're true but i heard from other forums that lakers are beginning to like Ingram less and less. Does than mean a trade down is more likely?

I don't see any of the other prospects passing up Ingram when you look at what they've actually shown on the floor and potential. Skal and Brown for example only hurt themselves over the past year.

Every rumor I see is originating from here lol.

That doesn't make much sense. The Sixers for one are having their own workout with Ingram, so why would they care what he did in his Lakers workout? They will evaluate him on their own workout. Secondly, the Sixers are taking Simmons anyway, so this isn't an issue in the first place.

NBA draft projections: Ranking Simmons, Ingram and top 40

Despite the consensus among scouts, these projections question whether Simmons is truly the best player in the class. Ingram has the highest draft grade, based on total projected SPM, and he is most likely to play at the level of an All-Star or starter during his first five seasons.

In comparison, Simmons has similar upside, but he comes with a far greater risk. In fact, among the top 10 college prospects in the projections, no player had a higher bust potential than Simmons. While that bust rate of 35 percent might seem high, it's worth noting that of the past 10 players selected No. 1 overall, three (Greg Oden, Anthony Bennett and Andrea Bargnani) have been widely considered disappointments.

Why do the projections favor Ingram? To start, he is more than a year younger than Simmons and can stretch the floor, which is becoming more important for forwards in today's NBA. Simmons has the edge when it comes to playmaking and rebounding, though, so the 76ers will have to weigh the risk and reward of each prospect and how he fills their biggest needs.

What's amazing about Brown is he hasn't hired an agent so he hasn't been "trained" for interviews like 99% of the other prospects. Very well-spoken and intelligent kid that I really liked at #3, too bad (for him) we have the #2 pick.
