I think of all of the youth we had Nance and Zubac were my favorites by a good margin. Neither had expectations or hype.... they just played. I'd trade Danny Green today for Nance back.

Random:

Do you guys think Ben Simmons can be the best player on a championship team if he gets a respectable jumper?

He could be the best player on a contending team if he plays his true position as a big wing like Giannis who can pass, post up and cut plus make free throws.

As long as he thinks he is a PG and they molly coddle him to be one, he'll stay where he is right now.

I agree with you. They should force him to play PF or trade him for a true PG.

His shot is like one of the great unknowns and mysteries of mankind. SUPER STAR GREAT if he gets a jumper. GIGANTIC BUST if doesn't. Personally, im hopin and waiting for proof of life. But the jury is still out

Not sure about a Gigantic Bust.... he's already more valuable than half of the first picks in the draft going back 20 years. Magic didn't have a shot for 4 or 5 years. Not a fair comparison but Simmons has a ton of value beyond shooting to a team. Is he a Bron type?... no. even a jump shot isn't going to close that gap. If I had a choice between he and Ingram for a number 2 guy on a great team I'd take Simmons today.

I think the success or failure of the Sixers team seems to focus on him rather than the real wild card which is Embid. Not sure if he cares about the game at all quite frankly. Stats and ability but no apparent drive.

Yes, you are correct...Magic. Your comparison to Magic is widely used and placed on Simmons. The Lakers were his favorite team growing up etc... Throughout the draft. Media outlets. Players. All mentioned Magic when watching him play. So your comparison and assessment is correct and widely used.
And that is why Gigantic Bust is attached...or as I had mentioned above, the jury's still out

His game will enhance others. His mindset is also to move the ball. He doesn't have a scorers mentality. Put him next to a sharp shooting 2 guard and a mobile big like Davis and you could have something. Maybe a post Bron thought....

Makur Maker's interview on the ESPN daily podcast is worth a listen. Can't remember the last time I've heard a more smart and mature 19 year old prospect.
