I don't see us trading the pick unless it's for a superstar. Trading down to land a lower pick and or multiple first round picks won't do us any good.
We will take the best prospect available at #2 and his name is Brandon Ingram. 18 years old, length, skill, shooting, defense. exactly what we need. His size should be no concern. Do you all remember how tiny KD was and pretty much still in?

In fact I am still trying to figure out why I keep hearing he's less of an athlete than KD... I think KD had a quicker first step, but Ingram seems to leap better and absorb contact better without seeing a side by side of athletic measurements.

KD has an amazing burst of speed when he puts the ball on the floor. Ingram in my opinion is a lot like Dirk in selling his jumper to set up his face up game. I like the Dirk comparison more than the KD one.

Not too bad for him. He will look just fine in green - thank you very much. Then history will judge just how badly you screwed up.

LongLiveHinkie wrote:That doesn't make much sense. The Sixers for one are having their own workout with Ingram, so why would they care what he did in his Lakers workout? They will evaluate him on their own workout. Secondly, the Sixers are taking Simmons anyway, so this isn't an issue in the first place.
By leaking some of these bad range stories about his workout, lakers are probably trying to instill pre existing beliefs in the sixers front office. This way, when Ingram makes the smallest mistake in his workout with them sixers staff will fall victim to confirmation bias regarding his range.
I believe this strategy by the lakers is common and often referred to as inception.

I think a lot of negative talk comes from message boards trying to downplay the Lakers getting another star talent. Just a couple months ago, everyone was saying Ingram is by far the #1 pick and a better player with better upside, now it's the opposite. Ingram has everything we need. WE NEED to draft Ingram. It's hard to land a good SF these days, this is our chance to not only do that but draft a possibly baby KD.
We can't forget the Lakers brought in just as many possibly #2 picks in for workouts as well.

If he could physically lick his own ball sack, he would never get out of his home.

We don't need any green goblin to tell us who to pick. Ingram is as good as ours. He even posted himself in Laker jersey in online social media. Nobody wants to go to Boston or another hellhole we call Philadelphia. Go ask Okafor how does it feel?

Randon question. How much of Ben Simmons basketball dominance came from the fact he played in the SEC and as a freshman is probably a year older than most dudes. I think he's 14 months older than Ingram. Does any of this matter? Or is this guys a stud no matter where he plays?

Kentucky is in sec too and they have some average schools like Vanderbilt, Texas a&m, Missouri etc. It's not quite aac, big 12 or pac 12 but it's probably the 4th best conference in college basketball.
