Honestly, I really hope these reports are just typical around draft time rumors, cause if we are keeping this pick, I really don't see anyone else having Ball's potential (other than Fultz). Maybe Jackson, but he really isn't really what we need, especially if we are sold on Ingram for the long term. I understand Jackson/Ingram can play together and the league is positionless now, but considering the PG stuff, I think we need another playmaker, not another dynamic do it all wing. And regarding Fox, I like his potential, but I think he is more likely to be Elfrid Payton on offense/Rondo on defense (which is a great player, don't get me wrong) than he is John Wall. I think he'll be a better shooter than Prime Rondo, but nowhere near the playmaker. Ball might never be a create his own shot scorer on the perimeter Ala Curry, and his lack of midrange also won't let him play off screens off the ball like someone like Klay. But Lonzo's passing is a sure thing imo, and in half court sets I think people will have to respect him 3 point ball when he spots up.

I would love us to take ball and for Philly to be into 3 for Russell or Russell plus Clarkson or 28

I'd do #3 for Clarkson and 28 as I still think that Russell will break out next season, I'd be hesitant to move him now, not for a pick anyway.

Given Lavar's and Lonzo's expressed Laker love, there is a chance they repel Ainge. I wouldn't be surprised if Brad Stevens is lobbying for Josh Jackson. Scrappy player who hates to lose and plays hard-nosed defense, competes. I'd place an outsider bet on that they'll try to sign a bonafide scorer like Hayward instead of drafting a scoring guard like Fultz. I like our odds even if slim that we have a pretty good chance at Ball based on all of that, but I'm assuming a lot of things. If they don't go with Fultz, they might pick Ball. Should that be the case, I'm hoping I'm right about Stevens wanting Josh Jackson badly enough.

if we got Clarkson + 28 for 3 then Pelinka deserves GM of the year immediately. If we could have that kind of option off our bench that would be insane.

Also if they do go Jackson #1, i think Fultz has to be an absolute no brainer at #2. If the front office is hesitant on Lonzo for whatever reason already, then the consensus #1 pick has to be picked before him. Similarities between him a Russell be damned, he's the best player in the draft.

I'm not too worried about it. If Lonzo goes first, so be it. It would suck but I'd then pick Josh Jackson and play Ingram at the one. I wanted Luke to give this starting guard line-up a serious try last season: Ingram at point guard, Russell at the two.

Ingram/Nwaba/Ennis
Russell/Jackson/Brewer
FA/Ingram/Jackson
Randle/Nance/T-Rob
Zubać/Mozgov/Black

Let's trade JC and Deng, please.

Is Chad Ford really a reliable source?

This is smokescreen season anyways. And journalists need things to talk about, so why not make up a bunch of crap?

Seems like people are just coming up with Russell trade scenarios just to make a trade.

I understand the message. You don't want to be seen as the organization that falls for the marketing hype without doing your due diligence.

who is Fox's agent ? He seems has connection to ESPN. ESPN clearly suck Fox ass. he's not even top 3 point guards in the draft.

ball is my favourite player in the draft, but i can live comfortably if they take Tatum, DSJ, Fultz, Markannen, Josh but not for Fox. :banghead:

Every single major publication has Fox as a top 2-3 pg, not just ESPN. He's one of 3 players that the lakers are going to workout so far, along with Ball and Jackson. Weird how this wave of hate for Fox has become so prevelant on the board lately.

Ball clearly makes the most sense for us both in the short-term and in the long run.

I think Jawun Evans will be a better pro than Fox, and honestly he probably should be higher than him on my big board. I am really impressed with him.

I like him too.
He is smallish, but tough.
I doubt he'll be around late in the first round but if he is still on the board, I'd draft him.

He's a lot like IT.

good to see no Lavar. Maybe these reports have scared him into keeping quiet. At least this 1 on 1 will allow them to evaluate him for what he is without his father being a factor.

Lonzo Ball, DSJ, Tatum, Josh are the better prospects, and people talk as if Fox is 2nd coming Wall. Well wall coming into the league labeled as his floor is Derrick Rose.
